We stumbled upon Crema Coffee on accident, just by driving past. It seems like it was converted from an old storage building, and they're kept most of the original stuff inside, which makes a fabulous coffee shop. Their cookies were really good, and there was plenty of seating space; The huge windows up front overlook the harbor, which would've been a beautiful view if it had not been a bit grey that day. I would definitely want to go there again.

Sometimes, you just go into a place and know it's where people go. There is a palpable buzz inside Crema that comes from knowing how to make a lemon square and brew a decent coffee. I had a tall latte, and the ONLY latte (in the US) that is comparable is Peet's.

But the atmosphere, the soaring ceiling, old brick warehouse, funky art, and comfortable couches ... make this place a definite winner. Great pit stop for families. I also notices that they offer a nice selection of gluten free / vegan options.

I'll be back!

We were visiting Portland, Maine, this week and on recommendation we stopped here for an Iced Maple Latte. It was the best coffee I've ever had, and I've had a lot of good coffee in a lot of places. I wanted to drink it on site and get another to go. We went back the next day to get a second one before leaving town to return home. It is a lovely, large coffee shop, friendly baristas, large selection of pastries, and clean restrooms (when you're traveling that is important). We go to Portland fairly often and I know that we will be stopping here for sure. It was exceptional coffee.

Love this place and we now make it a regular stop when visiting Portland (6 times/year). Traditional and specialty coffees at fair prices and everyone has been a winner so far.

Located on Commercial Street near the Casco Bay Lines ferry terminal, this is a coffee connoisseur’s kind of café, one that helps put the city on the country’s coffee capitals map. Curbside parking is outside the door; garages are short distances away. Inside, the atmosphere is laid back. Plush couches and a working fireplace encourage sitting back and relaxing with a latte or espresso and freshly made munchies. Window-side tables afford street and waterfront views. All tables are big enough to share with family or friends or to spread out and do work at them. Service is friendly, but the baristas do attend to detail, so it’s a bit slow at times. For aficionados, a big roaster machine is on display toward the back. All of the coffee options are reasonably priced for a cafe on the Old Port's fringes. Be sure to try the killer daily dark roast! The only real downside here is the scarcity of outlets for charging portable devices. Other than that, it’s all good!
