My favorite drink....the blueberry martini!! Excellent drink menu and the food was excellent as well. Loved this place and cant wait to go back! Had the California cheeseburger and the spinach salad and both were excellent. Make sure you stop by this one.

My husband and I live part time in Portland, Maine and love the variety of restaurants that abound there. Upon a recent visit we discovered a relatively new gem--The North Point. What caught my attention was someone hanging flower baskets on a somewhat chilly May day. We poked our heads in out of curiosity and had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, Noah. He introduced himself and invited us to take a look around. The atmosphere is both unique and cozy. It's comfortable but not exactly casual and pub-like. Its walls have exposed brick and it's eclectically decorated. The bar is long and inviting offering great brews and wines, and other specialty drinks. The North Point's menu offers charcuterie, cheese plates, pates and interesting salads. Their specialty is pressed flatbreads--but lest you think you're getting an ordinary panino, you're mistaken. The Maine mushroom melt features Portobello mushrooms, dried blueberries (yes, blueberries!) caramelized onions and feta cheese. I thought I died and went to heaven! My husband indulged in the ultimate grilled cheese and declared it superb. For dessert we treated ourselves to crepes filled with chocolate and raspberry. The entire experience was so inviting we brought a visiting friend back only two days later! The owner once again came to chat with us, and when we joked that we sure could use some French fries with the sandwich, he went back to the kitchen and emerged with a plate of roasted potatoes! If you're looking for a casual dining experience with great food and an equally charming atmosphere, The North Point is a must! (When you're there, be sure to use one of the two unisex bathrooms--the walls are quite entertaining!)

Ordered the Sangria and a couple flatbreads (mozz/feta/blueberry is recommended). Service and food were both outstanding. Perfect spot to grab a bite and head back out into that beautiful city!

It was a spur of the moment when we found this gem. The fresh Sangria was delicious and full of fresh fruit and the flatbreads were terrific. We split two flatbreads amongst 2 couples; the cheeseburger and the Maine Mushroom. Both breads exceeded our expectations - light and full of flavor. Do try this place - you won't be disappointed!

We stopped into The North Point for lunch today, and the food and funky atmosphere were great. We both had one of their hot-pressed sandwiches, and they were excellent. We also shared a delicious arugula salad. We hope to return for drinks or a light dinner on our next trip to Portland as the place seems destined to be a fun nightspot. For lunch, it was certainly excellent.
