“Not the Boone's I remember - Better!”

Headed into Boone's on a busy Friday night without a reservation, but got seated upstairs in the bar area. Really crowded and noisy with a lot of energy. Extremely knowledgeable server made some great suggestions. They have a a la great fish menu and I had some of the best seared scallops of my life. Nice wine and cocktail menu, good service. Liked it so much we went back a couple of days later and sat outside on the deck and had a burger and beer and people watched. Fun place!

“fabulous mussels”
Reviewed May 30, 2014

nice atmosphere, probably some of the best mussels I have ever had. Scallops were good, husband had seafood newburg which was very good and bread was superb service was excellent. A bit pricey I was going to have lobster but 33 for a 11/4 lb was a bit much and oysters were over 3 a piece stick with the awesome mussels

“Good food.. Slow service”
Reviewed May 28, 2014 via mobile

Stopped here for dinner based on hotel recommendation. Place was not that busy when we arrived so waiter took order and food came out reasonably quick. That's when we lost out waiter. Place got busy and we had a hard time finding him for drink refills and out check. Otherwise, food was good. The lobster pizza is excellent and was the clam chowder. Lobster role was good as well. The blueberry biscuit bread is delicious. Lots of outside tables but the weather was not so great that day so we had to eat inside.

“2nd choice restaurant”
Reviewed May 26, 2014

We went to Boone's because there was a long wait at Gilbert's Chowder House. I had fish chowder. It was not good at all. I will never go back there for food again. The chowder was not good at all.

“Needs some work...”
Reviewed May 26, 2014 via mobile

We were looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately left disappointed. We were seated inside on the ground floor, and while a nicely finished space, the atmosphere was loud and somewhat "smokey" as a result of fumes from the open kitchen. It was actually quite visible across the room at one point, and we later noticed that our clothes smelled strongly of the cooking odors after we left (we assume there was something wrong with the exhaust hoods over the grills). The service was spotty at best. Additionally, several of our table setting pieces were not very clean, and had to be replaced. Our server was friendly and well informed about the menu, but would disappear for extended periods both before and after our meals arrived. To be fair, it appeared they were understaffed, as she did have a large number of tables to attend to, but overall the service across the room, and the activity in the kitchen seemed somewhat "frantic" and they did not come across as a well coordinated team. The food itself was by far the highlight. An interesting variety of appetizers and entrées, and the ability to build a custom meal ala carte provided enough selection to satisfy just about anybody. When our food finally did arrive, it was both well prepared and presented, with the exception of one side dish that was cold. The bar also is well represented with a nice selection of local beers, creative cocktails, and a well chosen wine list. This place definitely has potential, however the inconsistent service and uncomfortable atmosphere will need to be addressed for it to be a contender in a town with so many great options.
