“lobster roll”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

Got a lobster roll...it was good. Very small but good. Wife got shrimp dinner which is not fresh Maine shrimp as no one has fresh Maine shrimp this year because of shrimping restrictions. Employee told me they get the shrimp through Massachusetts where they shrimp out in international water off the coast of Maine. Shrimp was good but very small...popcorn shrimp. Wait was kind of long so it must have been the shrimp because I saw about 5 or 6 lobster rolls sitting ready in the kitchen when i picked up my food.

“Lobstah dinnah”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

This place is casual. You place your order, they give you a pager and then you pick your food up at the window. Seating is first come, first served. We found a seat at the very back of the dock. They had live music which was good and not crazy loud. The food was good and reasonably priced (after all, no wait staff!). It was just what we were looking for. If you're looking for a fancy dinner, this is not the place, but if you're looking for a full lobster dinner at a better price, then this is the place for you!

“Ok”

It is what it is. I got exactly what I expected. I was not upset with anything and not gushing either. The atmosphere and band were high points of the visit to this establishment. Even though its a three star rating, I would visit again.

“Great casual dining”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

Great seafood. Casual atmosphere. Great for families with kids. We dined on a Monday night and it was crowded. They had live music outside and comedians after the live music. We sat inside (only place we could find a table). Long wait for our food, but it was excellent.

“What I expected”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

While strolling in and out of the stores in Portland and asking where to get a lobster roll the answer kept coming back as the Portland Lobster Co. So we went.

The wait staff was pleasant and was on the spot when clean up was needed between customers. It does take a while to get your food...to the point you start to wonder if they somehow forgot your order. The dining area is outdoors a picnic tables. So if your claustrophobic, on a busy day, this may not be the place for you. You end up sitting with people you don't know, but we believe that to be part of the charm of the restaurant--getting a chance to talk with people through a shared experience.

By the way, the lobster rolls are exactly as I expected, YUM!
