Booked into the Portland Regency during the 2013 blizzard we were unable to take advantage of the many restaurants in the "Old Port" in Portland Maine due to the weather. Because of this we were re-introduced to the great lounge/restaurant at the Portland Regency hotel. The staff was more than accomodating, the food was wonderful. A member of our party asked if he could order from the menue from the mail dining room--:Sure" was the reply. In a difficult situation we--all(8) had the most enjoyable time and we're looking forward to our next get-away Portland weekend.

It's a proper, traditional and classy bar. We sat at the bar and had several delicious cocktails. The bar staff are very friendly and keen to serve you food without being pushy. The food was great too - a nice selection of appetisers served with our cocktails including pork "wings" which were slow cooked, meltingly delicious.

I want to go back here again. I hope that one day I can.

Friends were staying at the hotel for the weekend so we met at the armory lounge for drinks before heading out for dinner. The atmosphere was very pub like and cozy with lots of dark wood and comfortable seats. I enjoy good beer and the menu was right up my alley for choices. The bar snacks were right on par and the service was excellent.

A very nice place to stop for drinks if you are looking for a low-key, yet elegant bar. It is very dark with large arm chairs and mahogany tables and wall paneling. The cocktails are reasonably priced ($10-12/martini). Be sure to ask for the "bar treats" with your drinks! It is a huge complimentary plate of Snyder’s of Hanover plain and honey mustard & onion pretzel pieces, a very generous portion of a tasty cheddar spread, and crackers.
