Spread was on our list for some time and finally made it there for dinner. It was eerily quiet with few patrons, but overall a nice atmosphere. Our server was great. Very attentive and informative. Unfortunately the food was not on par. Their wine list was not very impressive even though they tout it on their website. Only a few wines by the glass and all very mundane--we went for beer instead. We ordered a spread to start, which was the smoked poblano hummus. It was o.k., no smoke flavor, tasted like a basic hummus. We were taken back by the entrees. There were only five choices and no description. For example, "roasted half chicken." I would like to know how items are prepared or some basic flavorings. While the price was $18, it was al la carte, which means you had to buy sides that would bump the price up to $26-27 if you shared sides, which is a lot for plain chicken. Because of this, we opted for some small plates and sides. The food was good, not outstanding, except for the wild mushroom toast. However, the downside of our entire experience was the strong sewer gas smell in the dining room. Clearly there was leak or a blockage and the smell was disgusting when trying to eat. All in all, I would not recommend spread based on too much money for too few options. I am sure the sewer gas problem was a fluke.
