This was my first stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The beds and pillows were great as was the granite tile and counter tops in the bathroom. The hotel is conveniently located in the Old Port area and was within walking distance to many restaurants. The free Lincoln Town Car service to our dinner at a nearby restaurant was a pleasant surprise and the drivers were happy to be at our service. This was a business trip but I would stay again with my husband when we travel to the Portland Maine area for our visits in the summer.

I have stayed in Portland Inn a few times as business brings me to the area. I can recommend the hotel for its location and for its service. Food is great, though the menu is limted for me- I am a vegetarian. The chef went out of his way to accommodate my diet and prepared fine dinner with what he had on hand. This is a level of service I did not expect and I was happily surprised.
Rooms are large enough to work in, bath and amentities a cut above the rest.

Do be sure to have breakfast at Eve's. The French Toast with Blueberry Marscipone sauce was to die for. And bring lots of books to read and enjoy Starbucks coffee in comfortable luxury with beautiful old town ambiance!

Made these reservations with no knowledge of the hotel or city layout. What a delight to approach through the old town, cobblestone streets with lots of interesting shops and eateries, all just a block or two from the waterfront, and arrive at the hotel in the heart of it! Greeted by valet and reception attendant with very warm and sincere smiles, we immediately felt so welcome. The room was extremely comfortable, and the bed provided among the best sleeps we've ever had. We would not hesitate to stay there again. If you appreciate both professional and genuinely friendly customer service, and want a central location from which to explore the city, this is the hotel for you!

We've stayed in many hotels in the U.S. and abroad - and none have been more pleasant. This is the way to relax and enjoy a whole lot of fun in this little city! The location is central, the staff is genuinely friendly and the accommodations are immaculate and comfy. What a pleasant surprise!
