Experienced a hospitalization during our stay. The staff was incredibly supportive, caring and accommodating.
Great location with easy access to shopping, eating and sightseeing.
Just a great place to stay in a really hospitable city.
Try it, you'll love it.
Can't wait to go back!

We love this hotel. The staff is wonderfully accomodating. Recent rennovations make the restaurant/bar much more amenable. The restaurant is a hidden gem in a city with many restaurants.

The Portland Harbor is the place to stay! While staying there everyone must try out Eve's restaurant - the food is fabulous!! Worth the trip. Will highly recommend.

This must be the best hotel in Portland. The staff is accommodating and friendly, service is spot-on. Tea service in the room arrived quickly at a cost lower than expected for room service. The first courses we shared in the bar were quite good (try the unusual tomato soup!). Stay here, you won't be sorry.

We've stayed at other hotels in Portland when all we really needed was a bed for the night. This time we wanted to spend more time in the city so I chose PHH based on a friend's recommendation and after reading reviews here. I was a bit concerned about negative comments, but we experienced no problems; on the contrary the staff was very cordial and prompt attention was given to our requests such as extra towels. When we arrived, my husband asked the woman who checked us in if she thought we would be able to get a table at Street & Company as walk-ins. She immediately called the restaurant and got us a reservation at a reasonable hour. (There is a concierge but I can't remember if he was at his desk at the time.) We stayed in a "Jacuzzi Suite," a long narrow-ish room with a large bath overlooking the garden, so we heard no outside sounds, even with the window open at night for that fresh salt air. As another reviewer mentioned, there was about a 1-inch gap at the bottom of the door which let in hall light, but that could be easily remedied with a towel and the room was otherwise very dark at night. We had a glass of wine at the bar but did not eat in the restaurant, though it was a lovely room and the menu sounded very good.

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at this hotel. What drew us back is the bed. It is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Also, the location of the hotel is great. It is right in the middle of Portland's old port within walking distance to many restaurants and bars, so no driving involved. Another side note, I forgot one of my favorite sandals in the room and, realizing it 2 or 3 days later, called and they had it. They promptly mailed it out at their expense and I received it 3 days later. It was greatly appreciated. It is a bit expensive, but for a one night getaway with my husband it was great. Check out Becky's diner on nearby Commerical St. for breakfast. It was worth the wait.

We got a slightly lower last-minute rate at the hotel, which was good because the full price seems awfully expensive for the product. Nice staff, clean room, good location but I don't know about the reviews touting luxury and glamour...seems like a stretch to me, as I didn't experience the kind of design/services/experience that would usually qualify a hotel as luxurious (chocolate lobsters aren't on my checklist). Room layout was odd, with a TV undersized for the distance it was from the bed/chairs. We didn't encounter any issues with noise. A fine place to stay, but if I had read TA reviews ahead of time, my expectations would have been way too high.
