“Awesome location!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

We stayed at the hotel at Christmas for 3 nights and had a wonderful time! The location is perfect because you are in the heart of the Port. Walking distance to everything. The staff are very professional and always accommodating to our needs. Cam at the bar was fantastic and provided ideas and places to visit. Our room was off the courtyard and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bath was very large and clean. We had dinner at Eve's and the food was excellent. Highly recommend and look forward to our next visit this year.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that opens to the courtyard.

Stayed sat night as part of a big birthday celebration for my wife. we loved the hotel, first class all the way. Bed was awesome and we slept well. Bathroom was very nice, granite walls around the shower and seperate tub. Robes, slippers and turn down service included. The bar was neat and friendly, staff very professional. Hotel was close by everything..a spa, many many great resturants and we walked to a concert venue as well. Would like to return and spend a few nights and explore Portland and the Old Port in a bit warmer weather,

Room Tip: If your driving, take advantage of the valet parking. 14 a night but worth it....

This is the only hotel I like to stay at when in Portland. A convenient parking garage under the hotel, check in on an above ground floor is not standard, but very useful to avoid the street noise and chill during the winter.

Check in is always efficient and I often get early check in. Rooms are spacious, clean, good amenities.

Hotel is right in the middle of the town, close to the best restaurants, business district and water.

I stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago and it was a great place, in an awesome location! The rooms were clean and cozy (not real large, but it didn't matter to us) and we really liked the bar for drinks and the restaurant for breakfast too. It was very quiet, which is rare in most hotels! The trip was planned by my daughter-in-law and her mom as a surprise for my birthday. We booked a massage and we all enjoyed being pampered for a while! I'd definitely stay there again...

Room Tip: We had a room that faced the side street and it was very quiet.

Great hotel and location. Everyone was friendly and willing to help in any way. Resturants in this town are great....if you want good simple food "local" ask the valets. However, the front desk hit home runs with their resurtants as well. There are many good places to eat in Portland.

We hope to go back soon and would stay here again!

Room Tip: Our room was by the elevator and we did not hear a thing. We were there for 4 nights and it is a ve...

Lovely and spacious room with a view of the harbor and the old port by day, but beware if the loud, thumping bars next door. Ask for a room that does not face the bars if Wharf Street or be prepared to hear their very loud music till around 1 a.m. How does the city allow this?

Situated right by the charming Old Port, the hotel is a warm, welcoming and cozy upscale hotel with easy walks to the harbor and downtown. The hotel is up to date and has good-sized rooms with a full shower and bath. Service is friendly and eager but the hotel operates with a very lean staff except during peak hours. There are two sides to the hotel and we prefer the courtyard since it is quieter. The "city side" is across from a very loud bar that has music and rowdy crowds that can resonate right into the rooms late into the evening and early morning hours. We are early risers and find the absence of true 24 hour room service a shortcoming. Coffee appears in the lobby about 5:30 or 6 am , before that it can be a long wait to get even a pot of coffee. The neighborhood is wonderful and conducive to an easy stroll either to the downtown center or the harbor. fore Street has numerous shops close by. The dining room is intimate and food is excellent albeit on the higher priced- side. Overall, the best downtown hotel in Portland by far.

Room Tip: Definitely avoid the city side rooms especially in warmer weather due to rowdy bar across the street
