“A great place to walk”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

the Back Cove trail is a wonderful area to walk and take in scenic sites. the walk around the Baxter Boulevard is especially nice. You walk are what is known as "Back Cove" which is fed by Casco Bay. The circuitious route is about 3 miles in length and can be walked in just under an hour. the trail also leads to the East End Beach area if you want to go in that direction. There is an ample parking lot at the start of the trail across from the Hannafods Supermarket on Pearl St.

“Great trail for biking”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

This is a great trail around the bay for biking or running. We love the views of the bay from the trail. Although the trail is well used, it's never so crowded that you don't have an enjoyable ride.

“Nice trail but. . .”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

Could be maintained a little better. Parts of the trail seem to be falling apart. I like the view of the Bay from the trail but you have to watch where you are walking on some portions of it. Definitely not auto pilot.

“Great Place to Walk or Run”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

The Back Cove Trail goes around on of the many bays in the area. I believe the all around walk or run is about three miles. It has workout stations and the views are wonderful. Sometimes in the summers there are many kites flying. If you need a run while in Portland, this is the place. Parking is opposite the small Mall.
