“avoid it like the plague”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

I stopped in to get a margarita during the arts festival. Sat at the bar, and got ignored by the incompetent bartender for 15 minutes before walking out. Looked at the menu - way overpriced for the food category. Lots of unhappy customers waiting a long time for their sub-par food.

“so so yummy!”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

Great food, everything on the menu is delish! The drinks are large and so are the tacos. Totally worth paying a meter to eat!

“A nice twist on Mexican”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

Taco Escobarr delivers a unique twist on Mexican food that is inexpensive. This place is about choices You have 3 choices of taco shells, soft, hard or crispy fried. Various fillings can be had as well (chicken, beef, fish, etc), which are all very tasty. I love really hot, hot sauce and they delivered, but they also have a nice mild sauce as well for those not so daring!
Service is decent and location is pretty good except there is no paring on congress. Located across from Nosh(another great spot for eclectic food), which I believe is the same owner.
Good value and great quality food.

“Plenty of good Mexican food”
Reviewed January 19, 2013 via mobile

Stopped by on a whim and although the Margaritas are a bit small for the price, the Carne Asada Burritto and my wife's chicken Taco salad were huge and very tasty . Should have gone for the spicy salsa and my wife thought the salad could have used a few more beans...too much rice. Will come back and the atmosphere is for a young crowd but didn't feel out of place as the old couple in the joint!

“Fair to Good, but lacking that Wow”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

We have heard good things about this place and are a fan of Nosh across the street (same owners). We arrived just before their Friday night rush and the waitress/bartender took our drink order. We are not a fan of those high boy tables and they are really not that comfortable. The placed filled just as we placed our meal order so we anticipated a bit of a wait. We waited and waited till about 30 minutes had gone by for my 3-taco combination and my wife’s fish taco and side of rice. The waitress/bartender after bringing the food order to the table next to us, which arrived after we did apologized to us and said the kitchen was having some issues. She brought over a basket of tortilla chips and salsa while we waited. My wife enjoyed her fish taco and the cilantro rice, but the tacos were that 2-bite variety. My steak was the best out of the 3 different ones I ordered. We likely will not be back and so far in the greater Portland area Taco Trio over in South Portland hits all the right buttons for affordable Mexican food with that wow factor.
