Definitely not Average and was between Very Good and Excellent. I save Excellent for those places that are too good to miss out on when I'm there... Very knowledgeable waitstaff, friendly, and great great atmosphere. The food was fantastic and not your typical Mexican place with a Portland flare...

I've never even been to that state, let alone that restaurant. You're extremely rude to rate a restaurant on too busy workers after one experience. It can happen in any place that serves entrees under $100.00 a pop. Try to make sure that people with enough experience and knowledge make $200 dollars a night with your bs $4/hr pay to stick around when you don't know that 50 more than usual people will show up on any given night. It turns into overstaffing and poor pay for your loyal workers who sometimes get tipped less than 20% for perfect service. You're incredibly ignorant. Everyone is a critic, pick something that you actually know about.

“Enjoyable dining”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013

Took advantage of restaurant week and finally made it to this restaurant after walking by many times and wanting to try it. Service was excellent (Thanks Meghan), the atmosphere was nice as able to sit by windows, and food was great. Enjoyed the different flavors that came with each meal as was different from other mexican restaurants we had been to.
Looking forward to going back with friends.

“Great food in a slightly chaotic environment”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2013

We made our first visit to the restaurant to celebrate a birthday. While we had reservations early in the evening, we were placed in row seating--an uncomfortable bench across from a chair, placed closely beside others--in the noisy bar area. Conversation was difficult, and because of the seating arrangements, not private. Welcoming staff greeted us. Our server was excellent--attentive without hovering. Food was flavorful, inventive, and plentiful. This is NOT Tex-Mex, but multi-spiced, delicious meals, and definitely worth trying.

“Not worth the smear.....”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2013 via mobile

I love Portland and the restaurant scene. It was restaurant week and we were up for trying something new. It was a poor decision to go with the restaurant week menu. The langoustine ceviche was good but if you looking for a kick try something different. Our neighbors at the next table seem to have a lovely dinner. Our lamb had very little flavor, the duck was poor and the chili relleno was not quite as advertised. The ancho chocolate creme brûlée with a smear of I'm not quite sure what, did not look appetizing. I am headed back to Walters, ForeSt. And St. & Co. Good luck if you go, I hope you have a better experience.
