“Marvelous experience, cordial service, wonderful food.”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

We took a chance and wandered on a rain soaked evening after a long drive. We were greeted in a friendly manner, seated quickly and our drink order was promptly served. Our server made a few suggestions that were spot on, our meals were fantastic and hot. On our next trip to Portland, Pai Men Miyake will be our first dinner stop.

“Great ramen noodles but.....”
Reviewed September 2, 2013 via mobile

You go to a noodle house known for their ramen noodles and find out THEY RAN OUT of those famous noodles you so patiently waited for. What do you do?

I showed my disappointment and said ok, then you are using soba noodles?

No... They used RICE noodles.

Rice noodle v house ramen noodles: the broths that Pai Men make are complex and wonderful. Their miso broth is tested for specific gravity... And the addition of their ramen noodles makes a wonderful broth a memorable broth. Rice noodles as a substitute is not even close.

Their Brussel sprouts are simply fantastic, served with mint, cilantro and a savory Asian dressing- it's a warm dish that could easily be a main dish!

If you want ramen noodles (and when they have them they are wonderful) call ahead and make sure they haven't run out!

“pork bun extravaganza..”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

As the title says, the pork buns are where its at! We come to Portland a lot but this was our first time to the noodle bar and we will be sure to revisit. We were also lucky enough to be there the night after an Alagash tap take over, so the beer list was incredible. With the being said, do not miss out on the Pork buns and the sushi. Pai Tan--super good!

“Good Japenese fare”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

Our dinner was very good. I had the pulled pork on rice that was quite good. The hamayaki won the "best of table" for the night. The Futo Maki fell short. It was a good size portion but the seasoning and the rice didn't do it. I'm headed back for the Pork Buns, they look awesome

“Lovely surprise”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

We had not been in a couple of years though did continue to eat at Miyake. Busy place that
handles itself very well. Complete menu with lots of choices in all foodstuffs, wine and bar.
Friendly and active service with very good food. A winner now
