My wife and I were both happy with this hipster lunch choice... I had the massive and delicious blackened fish tacos and she had a vegan dish (the name of which I can't remember, but that she enjoyed). We had a little trouble figuring out the ordering process but the staff was friendly and helpful (basically you give your order at the counter, and then they give you a little tray with your silverware and a number that they use to identify you when it's time to bring out the food).

Loved this place. Everything is local and fresh and they were super accommodating. Saturday mornings they have live music. Today's artist was Karen Gellis (sp?). If I wasn't inclined to sleep in we'd hit that place one more time...

Our daughters raved about this restaurant. So, we were Looking forward to a delicious meal. That is not what we found. Here's why:

1. They were out of the gluten free bread which is one of the reasons we went there. Very disappointing and hard to understand for a restaurant of this nature. And, they were out of the chicken dish that we wanted, too!

2. They took forever to get our food out - over 50 minutes for three people. When we asked why they said that when they came back to tell us that they ran out of chicken, our order then got placed at the back of the line. Really? Poor food management, for sure.

3. The tofu sandwich that I had was mostly bread with limited nuts and tofu. The same was true for the tofu plate that they substituted for the chicken dish. The veggie quesadilla was mostly beans with limited flavor.

4. The desserts were pretty good - only redeeming thing about this place.

5. I agree with another reviewer who says that this restaurant is dirty. Being vegan/veggie deosn't mean that tables don't need to be cleaned, the floors swept, and the walls washed. The place just feels tired and unkempt.

We were sorry to have spent one of our lunches at a restaurant that was so disappointing - especially in a city where great restaurants abound!

A cozy, laid-back atmosphere. A menu which caters to vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free. Reasonably priced considering it is locally sourced from nearby farms. I highly recommend the ham melt!

This is an incredible business model and restaurant. From what I understand, it's a co-op and almost all of the food they serve is sourced from Maine. They have an awesome menu with free range meat, vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, whatever you desire. We have eaten here dozens of times and have always enjoyed the eclectic atmosphere, nice people and cool decor. The menu changes some and it really makes you appreciate the effort they go through to keep everything local. The artwork on the walls is always changing and we've been there for some great music and a cool poetry jam one night. Enjoy and don't forget to write on the bathroom walls. THANK YOU LOCAL SPROUTS!!!
PS The vegan whoppie pies are out of this world.
