This is a fabulous and fun way to learn a little about Portland. The Old Port area of Portland is cute and historic, and our guide mixed in local history (he's a Portland native) with trivia about the Portland and Maine food scene. The owners met us at every stop, personally offering their top picks. (At the Public Market, we were offered samples of the last batch of an award winning cheese; at Dean's chocolates, we got a taste of their newest truffle.) It felt very intimate and friendly. The tour is leisurely but not slow -- there's enough time to enjoy your food, ask questions, browse and shop -- before moving on to the next stop.

Went on the 2 hr walking foodie tour. Randy was our guide. Small group - only 7 people; but we had a great time. Visited some of the more popular spots; but also some "off the beaten path" small boutique shops such as K Horton's and Dean's Sweets. Got to sample some good food (mostly snacks and sweets) and some of the local brews at Gritty's. Even ended up getting a private tour of the brewery downstairs which wasn't planned. Randy was great and took time along the way to explain some of the history about Portland and point out some of the interesting architectural sites. You also get a discount at some of the shops for being on the tour. Would recommend it; w/the caveat that you do walk about 2 miles.

This tour is a GREAT way to see the city of Portland!!! Not only do you get to sample some of the phenomenal food that the city has to offer, but the tour guide also points out many local icons/provides historical content. Well worth the time/cost!!!

My husband and I love discovering creative, quality foods. We love exploring new cities. The Old Port Culinary Tour was a thoroughly entertaining and educational way to get a terrific sampling of both. Who knew an “Old Port” could be so food progressive?! We were inspired to get home and cook up something new. Inspiring to us, too, was how many businesses we visited were owned by people who had left traditional careers to follow their passions. Bring a bottle of water, wear cobblestone-friendly shoes, and if you’re driving to the city, bring a canvas shopping bag or two and toss a cooler in the trunk. We ended up backtracking to most of the places we visited on the tour and stocking up. Loved it! Our knowledgeable tour guide, Ginger, was a pleasure.
