“Another great foodie tour!”
Reviewed September 26, 2012 via mobile

Honestly, I have never been on a foodie tour that I have not enjoyed and this was no different. The guide, Pat, was a former caterer and knowledgeable and informative. Most tours I have been on visited different restaurants but this was a little unique in that we visited a spice shop, fish market, whoopie pie bakery, brewery, a cheese emporium, a chocolate store and a couple of other places and Pat had actually personally prepared some of the items we tasted. She was very organized and well prepared. It is a long walk and one of our party had to drop out about half way through the tour because his knee was bothering him. Pat had asked before we began if anyone had mobility issues and he did not tell her that he did or she might have advised him what to expect. She also provided historic insight into Portland and into the foodie scene. This is a great introduction to eating in Portland!

“Wow, what a way to get an insider's look at Portland!”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

Had a great time with a charming and smart tour guide of all kinds of purveyors while walking through downtown Portland, tasting chocolates and cheeses and beer and great fish, while hearing interesting stories and history of the city. Couldn't have been more fun! Highly recommended.

“Great way to experience the city!”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

We were very lucky to be in a group with only three people so we had a very individualized tour. Our tour guide Chuck was awesome. He had a genuine interest in the city and it's history. He had a greater interest and knowledge of the food scene of Portland. We went to a number of neat shops and food experiences. Any time you get to eat whoppie pies and sample beers what else do you want. Take the tour and enjoy the sites and food experiences of this foodie town. We had so much fun I sent my parents to enjoy the tour. They took the trolley tour as they didn't want to walk that much. They had a great time. Portland is a wonderful place to visit.

“You'll eat Portland up...”
Reviewed September 10, 2012 via mobile

This tour offers the chance to see Portland from a delicious prospective. What is better than eating yummy food, seeing the city and learning all the hidden gems that the city has to offer. Interestingly enough none of the stops were at restaurants. Thankfully our guide did a great job of pointing out all the places to visit after our tour was over. All our stops had wonderful people and products with some incredible stories. I would recommend this to first time visitors ans natives alike.

This was a great walking tour with historical points and delicious chocolate to taste in all forms. You should definitely go on this tour. Pat was an excellent tour guide and you just can't beat the friendly people of the Old Port, in Portland, Maine! See my "Chocolate" blog post at www.respectyourfood.wordpress.com.
