“change of opinion”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

Always kinda' liked the Corner Room , but we were treated very unfairly tonight .
The four in our party for dinner before the Cirque du Soeil were all underwhelmed .
One chose the spaghetti & meatballs ,fairly safe . The other three chose a special of lobster carbonara for $25 . That should have been safe too , but it wasn't . One plate came out with very little lobster in it and the waitress & "person in charge " did nothing about it & insisted that it was as it should be . The dish also included panchetta which was thoroughly burnt , black.
They begrudgingly took $5. off the whole bill & we left with a very bad taste in our mouths .
$90.+ dollars for 4 bowls of sketti & cheese .
We all know lobster isn't the high priced item that it used to be .
Fortunately the show was grand . May think hard about Corner Room again . Too bad .

“fun italian restaurant”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant was really great. It was crowded but the buzz added to the ambience. We all had different pasta dishes and they were all amazing. Service was very friendly and helpful. I have friends and relatives in Maine and they all love this restaurant.

“Nice casual neighborhood spot, but show up early!”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

The food here is excellent. They do manage to cram a large number of tables into a small space, so prepare to make friends with neighbors. The combination of tight spaces and lots of Mainers generally means no one will be shy. It's part of the fun.

The menu is casual, refined American. There's a little bit of everything, and then a list of specials that adds to that. Personally, I stick to meat and seafood here, and would recommend anything with bacon in it. Which is pretty much half the menu. Of the normal menu, the big winner is probably the franks and beans (all of it homemade or local), which is like none you've ever had. Otherwise, the specials that you'll find from time to time are a duck breast served with those very same beans, a bbq brisket, and various pan sauteed seafood. If there is a duck breast on the menu, order it!

The only dish I'd suggest you avoid is the gnocchi with mussels. It's just an odd combination and the components just don't work together. I only mention this because we've brought plenty of folks there with us, all were curious, some ordered it, and none really loved it. Nothing here is bad, but there are so many better choices.

Also, great beer list, wonderful service. This is the best place to go in the east end.

“Best Relaxed Italian Bistro”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

Dozens of visits! We love to sit in front at the counter seats as the Chef prepares the food and we always get some treats to experience new things! My favorite is the chicken Parm and any of the pasta dishes. You can't go wrong here!!!

“I would go back again”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

The Corner Room was pretty good, but nothing revolutionary. I had a special wild boar ragu over polenta that was tasty, but lacked a certain something that would've pushed it into memorable status. My wife had the Insalata Mista that looked (and tasted, according to her) average. The roasted tomato & mozzarella bruschetta, on the other hand, was very, very good. It was extremely fresh tasting and flavorful. I would've given the restaurant a 3 out of 5 had it not been for the bruschetta. The atmosphere is lively.
