My Cousin and I stayed here for 1 night before travelling to another Maine town. Check in was fast and friendly and the hotel lobby is very clean and inviting. The cafe and bar are located on the lobby level and always have complimentary coffee, tea and ice cold water available. The room was large, comfortable and had everything you needed to stay and also LIVE if you wanted to! Kitchen area, coffee maker, microwave, fridge and dining table. We reserved a deluxe room with a view of Casco Bay and it was lovely. Bathroom was a decent size and shower/toilet were separate from the sink area, which made it convenient for 2 women to get ready to go out at night and in the morning. All toiletries were of a good standard. We decided to go out for dinner at the Portland Lobster Company that night and due to the location of the hotel to town, we decided to reserve a taxi. When we contacted concierge, they said.. no need to call a taxi our shuttle driver Bob will be happy to take you AND pick you up! Bob was super friendly and did just that. (He gave us his card as he dropped us off and invited us to ring him anytime we were ready to return to the hotel.) What service! Beds were comfortable and although the price for 1 night was a little steep, it was well worth it. (plus 2 of us shared) I will definitely return to this hotel the next time I'm in Portland.

Well located, clean and quiet. The hotel has a no nonsense quiet time policy. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is enjoyable and Sarah is very helpful. It has a nice pool and exercise room plus a good self-service laundry.

The hotel is near the harbour area with its many restaurant and attractions. Parking is across the street in a covered garage.

We will stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors have the harbour view.

This is the nicest Residence Inn that I've ever stayed at. We stayed for two nights and had a great time. The hotel seems to be pretty new. Everything is clean and looks great. Breakfast was good. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The bar area looks nice and they have a strict quiet policy after 10pm which is great for families (along with the multi-room suites). As other reviewers have noted, it is the most remote of several similarly new and priced hotels, but only by a couple blocks and the size of the rooms more than makes up for it. The only minus was that the rate was incredibly high - I've paid much less for 5 star hotels in Manhattan (NY, not KS) also booked direct through the corporate website (not some Hotwire deal).

My family and I spent one night here on our way to up Bar Harbor, Maine. It was perfect. The rate was reasonable, location excellent and hotel very clean. The breakfast and afternoon snacks exceeded our expectations. I would happily recommend this to anyone considering a visit to beautiful Portland!

I generally prefer to stay at Marriotts, especially Residence Inns, and have stayed at the Residence Inn Waterfront twice. I've had thoroughly great experiences both times. First, it's one of the new 2009 style upgrade Residence Inns. The rooms are neat, clean, and spacious. Second, it is located in Portland, ME which is my favorite city for walking around and taking in the sights (Casco Bay and the Downtown), sounds (fog horns) and the many restaurants and bars. We've been heading up to Portland for many years now and have stayed in many of the national brand hotels, as well as the local Portland hotels, but for the combination of location, price, and convenience return to the Residence Inn exclusively.

Room Tip: Parking in the garage next door is $12 per day when validated through the Hotel. That also counts al...

We stayed here for one night after flying into Portland on our way to a week’s stay in New Hampshire. “Downtown” and “waterfront” are in the eye of the beholder, I guess. The hotel seems to be on the far edge of downtown Portland and there’s a block of low-lying boat repair shops and other businesses between the hotel and the water. We were given a room with a partial water view and had a great view of the parking lot for the businesses between the hotel and the water. Nonetheless, this is a great Marriott property. Our room was clean and seemed very new. The kitchen was well-equipped, and I enjoyed being able to make a cup of tea there after a day of sightseeing. We could walk downtown to shops and restaurants in 10 minutes and to the waterfront path in less than five. The free breakfast was good, and the bar area had free baked brie and fruit the night we were there.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on an upper floor in order to get the best views of the harbor.

A very impressive suite overlooking the Port (views were not stunning). Room had everything you could wish for and more....fully fitted kitchen, dining table and chairs, very comfortable sofa and chairs - all the gadgets you need for a great stop over. We didn't do the place justice as we only stayed one night.
Location was 5 minute walk from the main down town area full of great restaurants tours, etc..
The included breakfast was very good, but I think you need to get there early and the dining area is not huge (but I am being picky).

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view
