The hotel was nice and the staff was very helpful. It was a little expensive for me, normally and the breakfast ended too early - it started and ended at different times than the posted times (30 minutes earlier) but overall I was happy with my stay.

I had a very enjoyable stay here. Free breakfast, free wifi and free hotel shuttle. My room was very clean and comfy. Staff very obliging and approachable. I think this is value for money and would recommend it for a short or long stay. I would like to see public bus timetables at reception as I didn't have a car and had to get taxis to town.

The room had not been dusted, fridge had mold on then rubber door seam and hair and dirt inside, cobwebs hanging from ceiling with spiders hair and soap in tub, a section of the ceiling plaster was gone, floors not swept and trash not emptied, no soap or hair care and not enough of so called towels. Halls and Elevetors smelled of smoke and so did our room
Staff was kinda rude and talked about you if you complained. Refund on room was by what the clerk decided on "her mood"
Breakfast was mostley bread products with little fruit selection
I would not advice anyone to stay there

While we've had positive experiences at La Quinta before (Ashland, OR and Camarillo, CA), the Portland franchise was at best mediocre. To be fair, a lot of this had to do with the clientele that were present with us (and yes, I get that we were part of that clientele) - it seemed to be White Trash Wedding Weekend in Maine's largest city, and they spent a good deal of Saturday Night celebrating that in the parking lot. As for the hotel itself, it had the feel of a remodeled Motel 6 - very thin walls, the exercise room and swimming pool felt like afterthoughts. While it's nice to have a free breakfast, there were simply way too many tables in the meal room, leading to mass confusion whenever there were more than three people present, and it didn't help when a family of eight decided to feed themselves all at the same time. On the positive side, we had a great time in the city, and we emerged with at least some sleep, and in one piece, so I guess that's all one can ask for.

Close to Hadlock field. Cheap room that is clean and quite. This place is a gem for my family of 5 looking for a fun time in Portland without breaking the bank. My kids loved the pool.

Stay at the Marriott if you want to spend a ton of $$
