We parked on Dana St. ($2.00 if get ticket around corner at garage), then walked leisurely around the shops for nearly 3 hrs. on a beautiful afternoon. We enjoyed the Popcorn Co., the All Things Moose shop, along with a couple other places. Love the way Portland has preserved the quaint shop area this way instead of letting the whole area be taken over by big development, etc., which is so often the case. We enjoy Portland and will return !

I've enjoyed all of my trips to the Old Port. The restaurants and attractions are wonderful and definitely is very family friendly area to be in. In the summer and early fall, cruise ships come in and can feel crowded in the Old Port. It is great for the economy but I tend to stay away during those times.

I particularly like it in the mornings when it's quiet and you can move from one place to the next.

On the other hand this is a genuine and wonderful one, which is surrounded by interesting and pretty places to be, and things to do, along with some cute shops that are not full of stuff right off the boat or over priced. I, for example, purchased a wonderful "singing bowl" for next to nothing from a cute little shop, and some "fish plates" that my kids grew up with and remember to this day. You could be so lucky.

Very dirty area, needs a good clean thru. Nice restaurants around but needs a scrub. Restaurants close for a few hours on the weekend in the afternoon which is a little inconvenient.

This is the best part of Portland. The quaint small shops with items from area artists are amazing. It is lively and quaint at the same time. Actually reminded me a bit of Galway, Ireland. I look forward to returning in the summer when the cafes and bars have outside dining.
