“Best Views of Portland!”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

You need stout legs for all the stairs, but the view is spectacular (not only of the city, but the bay, islands and estuary), and it's an interesting part of Portland history. The guide was very informative. Definitely worth it!

“beautiful views!”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

There was a history lesson along the way up. The stairs were sturdy, but rustic. The views were really fantastic. Recommended!

“Better than expected”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

Upon entering the observatory is not very impressive but inside it's worth visiting. The photos, exhibits, and tours were interesting. The view from the top is very nice, and a great place to catch a cool breeze. I recommend it for someone visiting Portland the first time like me.

“Steep climb, steep price”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

Cost to tour and climb the 100 steps to the top was $8 per person, which seemed a little high. There are amazing views in so many places in this city--this one seemed too pricey to be worth the cost.

Nice way to kill about 30 minutes and learn a little bit about Portland's history. Our tour guide was excellent.
