“Real good open air restaurant with very good food”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

We ate here before boarding the ferry to go to Monhegan and liked it so much we also had a second meal on our return. It was far better than anything we had on Monhegan! This restaurant is located on the dock at Port Clyde and you have a fabulous view of a true working harbor and the view is unsurpassed. You are basically in a tent and there are side flaps in case of foul weather but you might not want to be there if weather conditions are very poor. The food was fabulous and their blueberry bbq. chicken wings were the best we have ever had and we couldn't wait to have them again on our return. Our other entries were cooked well and very tasty. It was very busy, but the 2 waiters kept up with a great pace while remaining very friendly. We would not hesitate to return here when in the area.

“Skip the seafood here!”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

We took a guest to get a lobster roll yesterday and it was just awful. And very expensive, like more than $16. Haddock sandwich was almost inedible. This is such a great spot, right on one of the loveliest working harbors in Maine. Please, please, fix this place.

“Let's badmouth Linda”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

It seems as if most of the reviewers on the average to terrible level had a thing for Linda Bean buying up a good deal of the peninsula. While it is true that Linny has made few friends in the Port Clyde arena into which she bought with her prodigious wealth, it is a fact that everyone misses Scott, who has gone on to greener pastures in Thomaston. Now, I have had many bad experiences at the Dip Net under Scott's management, (For which Scott's hostess gladly compensated me with gift cards), I have had one decent meal in the place since Linda took over. Scott, however, is a superb chef. His Dip Net was simply disorganized. Linda's Dip Net is just, sadly, average. And killer now--the price went UP.

“Grear location”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

Great location for a real Maine experience. Good local sea food served right on the dock. If you have your own boat, you can moor right there and have dinner.

“Real Maine”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

My husband and I thoroughly enjoying eating at the Dip Net. Love sitting by the water and watching all the harbor activity. We like eating here on our return from Monhegan since it's right by the dock. I do agree with others that the food this year was good but not quite what it has been in the past. The sweet potato fries were fantastic, missed the salad with the beets and goat cheese- I'm hopeful they'll bring that back.
