This lighthouse and museum should not be missed. It is a beautiful location...we actually went twice seeing it in the afternoon and then returning to photograph it at sunset. The museum and giftshop are operated by the friends group that have restored it. What amazed us is it is free! They do have a donation jar out but we have been to many lesser museums that charge! The person staffing the gift shop was extremely helpful in suggesting area restaurants and directions and spent a lot of time with us. The items in the gift shop were reasonably priced we bought a whole set of greeting cars for $1.00 that were the same on Monhegan for over 1.00 each. The lighthouse is small but in a very beautiful setting and the friends group have also restored the keeper's house and now rent out that facility which would be a very unique experience.
