My husband and I got married at the 1774 Inn this August. I cannot speak more highly of Jackie and John (the Innkeepers/owners) and of the property generally. Jackie and John were so accommodating throughout every step of the planning and they couldn't have been more welcoming and gracious hosts to us and our guests during our stay. They really went out of their way to make our wedding weekend feel special. In addition to having a flawless and perfect venue for our wedding, we also had just a lovely stay at the Inn. The rooms are beautifully updated and offer all the comforts of a luxury hotel but with much more charm and character. The breakfast was both ample and tasty. And the location is so idillic and relaxing. We could not be happier to have chosen the 1774 Inn for our wedding and I would highly recommend it to anyone else looking for a mid-coast wedding venue. Simply the best!

The 1774 Inn is perfect. The owners, Jackie and John, offer warm and gracious hospitality -- including delicious breakfasts, plus helpful recommendations for nearby restaurants and activities. The Inn itself is beautiful, on the banks of the Kennebec River. When we are in Maine, we will certainly return to the 1774 Inn.

John and Jackie are wonderful hosts and offer a lovely B&B for a quiet respite. The room was well appointed with great bed and bath linens and a lovely view of the sweeping backyard and Kennebec River beyond. Breakfast was delicious both mornings and they were able to accommodate my husband's gluten intolerance. We had a wonderful weekend.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view room.

We were greeted by John and Jackie, the innkeepers, and made an immediate connection. Beautiful accommodations - loved the house and learning about its history. Lots of things to do in the area with many drop dead gorgeous locations. We enjoyed the breakfasts and the conversation with the other guests. Just great!

My husband and I spent 3 wonderful, relaxing nights in this inn. We were looking for a quiet place to stay on the Maine coast, off the beaten track but near interesting cities and places to visit. We struck gold and will recommend to all. The hosts, John and Jackie, were gracious and accommodating, the breakfasts delicious and nutritious, and the house itself a pleasure to explore and feel at home in. The location is near Bath, Brunswick, Popham Beach, and not far from the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. John's recommendations for lunch and dinner were spot on. And yes there really is a resident eagle on the river. We will return.

Room Tip: Can't imagine guests would go wrong with any room choice.

We had a great time at the 1774 Inn. Our daughter, son-in-law and grandkids were camping down the road at Hermit Island, and we decided to visit them while staying in luxury.
The Inn is delightful, the innkeepers are great, the breakfasts are outstanding, and the area is wonderful. We will be back.

Lovely stay.  John and Jackie are delightful.  We spent a wonderfully relaxing extra long weekend here in the Woodshed Room which provided plenty of space indoors, a covered porch that got substantial use in sun and rain, and an unbeatable view.  More than ample breakfasts.  Easy to get to Brunswick/Harpswell, Bath, Boothbay, etc.  We would definitely visit again.
