“Unique!”
Reviewed July 22, 2012

This is a small park where visitors can see what happens when 20 foot tides change direction. It is an awesome sight watching the water rush one way, then ebb, turn to the other direction and start the rushing over again. Really a great place to visit!

“A Special Place”
Reviewed July 19, 2012

The Reversing Falls Park is worth the trouble to find. It's not clearly marked, and you may wonder if you're going the right way. If in doubt, stop at the post office on route 1. He'll give you a map! It is quiet, peaceful and has nice tide pools. It seems to be a very old homestead site, with an old foundation, well and small cemetery. The current makes fascinating whirlpools, the scenery is classic coastal Maine, but without the hordes of visitors one finds in the summer. Definitely recommendable.

“Beautiful Place”
Reviewed July 17, 2012

The drive alone to this spot was beautiful. We saw Harbor Seals and the kids enjoyed walking over the rocks along the shore. No outhouse but a few picnic tables on the hill.

“Worth a Side Trip When Tides are Right”
Reviewed May 30, 2012

This small park on Cobscook Bay features a picnic area and a short walk from parking area to the shore of the narrow area containing the falls. When tides are coming in or going out (not near high or low tide times) the falls boil dramatically, and the sea birds fly overhead to find fish.

“A glimpse of heaven”
Reviewed September 22, 2011

We loved our week in Maine, but the highlight for my husband and I was our visit to Reversing Falls....once we found it.
There is little here except a parking area and a trash can, and we hope it stays that way. It is very hard to find but worth the effort for those who want a quiet place to enjoy an amazing natural phenomenon and the seals, bald eagles, osprey and other wildlife who seem to enjoy it as much as we did.
Give yourself plenty of time to get there a couple of hours before high tide and stay to watch the tidal flow reverse. We then drove into Eastport for a little shopping and stopped back by two hours before low tide. It was amazing to see the comparison.
