I've always had a great experience at the Cock-Eyed Gull, so much so that I have lost track of the state of other restaurants in Portland. I cant remember the last time I went somewhere else! There are so tried and true best sellers each year but the chef does an excellent job of creating new apps and entrées. Want to experience so local color? Saddle up to the bar to have dinner. This place is hard to beat! During the winter, they have an "all you can eat" haddock fry. What a value. The fish is perfectly cooked, lightly breaded and wonderfully seasoned. Homemade pickles and cole slaw and hand cut fries round out the meal. Just awesome!
