My wife and I visited Maine for our anniversary and we checked out Owls Head and the Lighthouse. Very neat and the view is great. There are a few guides on hand that tell you about the lighthouse and surrounding area which is informative. The little gift shop is nice too and has a few rooms that are like a little museum for the lighthouse which talks about it’s history.
You can also take the small trail down below to the beach and there’s lots of cool stuff like abandoned crab shells, rock formations etc....
And certainly don’t forget to look at the really cool old post office and the (now closed unfortunately) General Store which supposedly had the best burger in all of Maine! Wish we could’ve tried a burger!
Great site, highly recommend. Thank you!

Best Wishes!

Stayed in Camden and after our first stop at Mount Battie for the days activities, we drove here for a visit before heading to McLoon’s for lunch and then on to the Marshall Point thereafter. It was 35 steps inside to the top and an informative representative was present to provide great info on the beautiful prism light and history of this remarkable place. The ghost story history was intriguing and eerie at the same time. The scenic view was so pretty! There was an artist from Boston that we chatted with along the islands edge when we were taking photos.Said she comes here to visit frequently. She shared her journal of lovely pics she was drawing of the surrounding landscape. We wanted to go into the museum, but there was a fee and we had left our wallets back in our vehicle where you were required to park for entrance here. We wanted to spend more time after pics but were getting hungry for lunch. Great stop!

Definitely visit if you're in the area. Helpful staff with great knowledge of the lighthouse and area and beautiful views over the bay. We visited in the AM and then drove into Rockland for a lunch and stroll around town.

A place you'll want to take a lot of pictures at. Take time to explore the entire park and not just the lighthouse.
