What a treasure on the lake. Innkeeper Gina does a wonderful job of making guests feel welcome. Each cozy room comes with a private bath and access to the grounds, which face a breathtaking lake and include unlimited use of canoes. You can paddle across the gentle lake to fun and easy hikes, visit the US Fish and Wildlife Atlantic Salmon hatchery and use the lodge as your jumping off point to Acadia, Castine, Blue Hill, Camden, etc etc. The atmosphere is very laidback and friendly. Gina helps with tips for where to go and what to see. And she has good taste and can help tailor your day's activities. Breakfast is included (a hot meal plus fruit, yogurt, cereals, juice, etc). We came for one night but stayed 3. Great place in a fantastic setting. Truly special. Very clean and well-loved.
