“Good for seafood lovers, but not so good for those who don't eat seafood.”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

The restaurant was pleasant as I first approached. When I opened the door, I was greeted by a crowded layout of tables and an overly strong seafood smell. The seafood offerings looked nice, but I can't eat seafood. The non-seafood menu items where below what is expect from a restaurant which presents itself like this one does. It's ok, but that's it.

Thank you for visiting our Tavern in Oquossoc. We strive very hard to ensure our customers have a great dining experience. We specialize in Fresh Maine Seafood. As we are connected to Scottys Lobster Pound and Meat Market. We have fresh hand cut Steaks, Prime Rib and many other non seafood Items, But you do have the Lobsyter Pound connected to the restaurant. Thats why people LOVE us. We won Yankee Magazine Editors Choice Award for 2012. Thanks again for your response we look forward to serving you in the future. Maybe try some fresh Maine Seafood.......

“Great lobster rolls!!”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

We had a great lobster roll at a reasonable price. The service was friendly and efficient. This was our third or fourth time eating at Tall Tales and we've not been disappointed yet!

“Average Local Pub”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

A local hangout at the bar that can get a bit raucous at times. Good draft beer. Pretty solid fried seafood baskets and the like. Food was average. The one bartender was busy and we admired how she hustled to keep up, but the service wasn't great. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but I would say that the place has its regulars.

Thank you for visiting our Wonderful and obviously Very busy Tavern in Oquossoc. We strive very hard to make sure our customers have the freshest food and the best service, We also own the seafood and meat market next door, Scottys Lobster Pound, so you can be sure that all of our food is Fresh. We also grow alot of our own vegetables, as you can see from the garden in front of the Tavern. Our Staff works very hard to make sure that everyone is happy with their Dining experience. Our Locals come in as well as many great visitors to the area as you can see from our reviews. We even won Yankee Magazines Editors Choice Award I hope you will visit us again when you are in the area.

“Great steamers and draft beer”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Beautiful little tavern tucked away on Route 17. Bar has 8 stools, 3 high tops, and a full dining room.
Food is very reasonably priced and there are daily specials. The owner sells meat and fish in an adjoining store so you know the food is fresh.
Obviously I enjoy steamers.
Open for lunch and dinner in the summer but different schedule in the Fall and Winter.

“Good seafood even away from the coast”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

Really enjoyed this place. The seafood is good which you might expect since Scotty's is next door. Great lunches and dinner. Only small negative is that it can get a bit noisy when there is a crowd. But I am happy that they are doing so well that there is a crowd!
