“Wonderful B & B in a carnival town”
Reviewed October 7, 2007

We had a wonderful stay at the Atlantic Birches Inn. First of all, we took longer getting up there and had to check in after hours. We had called and talked to them about it. They were so friendly and nice about it all.

We stayed in the Old Orchard Room. It was spacious and lovely. I liked learning about the past hotels, which each room is named after, from the glory days of Old Orchard Beach. My husband and I were not really prepared for the atmosphere of the town....very fairground and carnival like. It would have been terrific to bring the children to, but wasn't exactly what we were wanting for our anniversary trip. That was our fault. However, we spent most of our time in Ogunquit and Kennebunkport......both lovely and quaint towns. We loved shopping in Perkins Cove in Ogunquit. The town of York was wonderful as well.

The innkeepers gave us wonderful reccommendations of where to eat. Both were terrific seafood, but not stuffy at all. The Rising Tide was a lobsterman's co-op and had yummy lobster. The other was a seafood restaurant in a nearby camp town. Great food! We did really like going to the old fashioned candy store to get treats for the kids to take home.

The breakfasts at the inn were simple but as described. We really enjoyed our time and would reccommend the inn for others.

We stayed for a week in July 2006 in one of the suites and were dissapointed with the cleanliness. The chairs were dirty, there were spider webs in the bedroom and the room was full of mosquitoes, the breakfast was very skimpy. It was obvious that no one had dusted the furniture for a long time. The refrigerator was very small (under counter) with a freezer full of ice. For the price they charge, I would have expected a much better service overall.

We met family members here for an overnight and found the inn to be charming. One couple was not thrilled with the room they had chosen but the innkeeper was very happy to put them in another room, which they loved. We also had reserved a 2-room suite which was perfect to share.

The inn has a porch with a nice swing and was just a few minutes walk to the beach. There was a nice continental breakfast with fruit salad, cereal and freshly baked muffins.

Highly recommended!

We came there for the Memorial Day Weekend 2 couples to eat Lobster and Seafood. The rooms we stayed in were spotless the Fiske and Old Orchard House Rooms. It was great coming down each morning to the scent of fresh baked muffins and brewed coffee. The innkeepers Ray & Heidi went out of ther way to make our stay very enjoyable. The diner recommendations and sights to see where great. We loved eating at Yellow Fin's in Ocean Park. We will definately be back wth more of our friends

My boyfriend decided to surprise me with a weekend getaway for my Birthday. We stayed in the Old Orchard House Room. What a lovely room to get engaged in. The Innkeepers knew what my fiance had planed and made it even more special with the Flowers and Champagne waiting for us when wwe returned from diner. I had never stayed in such romantic room or been treated so special by the Innkeepers. I would highly recommend the Inn for that special occasion. We'll be back in the Summer with our friends.

Visitng our family and friends in Maine for the first time during the Holidays turned out to be a wonderful experience. We stayed at The Atlantic Birhces Inn for 3 nights in December. What a lovely place to stay. The Inn was beautifuly decorated for the Holiday Season. The Innkeepers were very friendly and accommodating. We felt like it was a home away from home and we would recommend The Atlantic Birches Inn to our family and friends. We are looking forward to a return visit sometime in the summer.
