This is a little out of town but worth it. Lots of room, food was excellent, good drinks, and kid friendly. Staff was good as well....

The goal was to find a comfortable and casual restaurant for the evening, serving some decent seafood. Shouldn't be difficult, given the location, right?
The restaurant looked a bit dated, though comfortable and family friendly.
We were seated in a room that was pretty empty aside from one other group, and were seated right next to them. This was semi-annoying because, due to limited space between tables, chairs were in the way. Once that party left, the next party of at least 6 was also placed in the same spot, so we spent the evening squeezing our chairs in and out so people could pass by, and have peoples rear-ends in our faces as we were eating, instead of using the many other empty tables near by..
We both ordered baked stuffed shrimp. We were served 5 (medium sized) already cooked, pre-frozen, thawed, and warmed up shrimp, split down the middle and 'stuffed' with a melon-ball sized scoop of indiscernible- and not even good tasting- stuffing. The shrimp were rubbery.. the minuscule amount of butter and even squeezing lemon on them could not save the dish. Given the proximity to water and fresh ingredients, the name of the restaurant, and the competition for seafood fare in the area, this was a disappointment. The dish was not inedible, but bland, mediocre, and the most unimpressive display of the dish I've ever seen, and I've had plenty of baked stuffed shrimp... the chef could have even taken a few lessons from us, as even we make it better! The salad served with dinner was more appetizing.
The waitress was nice, helpful and quick.
If you're looking for top notch seafood (who wouldn't be, on the ocean??) this is not the place for you. With all of the other competition for good seafood fare around the area, I would not return.

This place has the biggest lobster roll I've ever seen. You can get two meals out of it. The other food on the menu is delicious too, especially the prime rib. Yummo! Sure would like to get the key that opens the treasure chest one of these times.

My husband and I went to a wedding reception at the Captains Galley. The bartender took out debit card to pay for our drinks. After 15 minutes my husband asked for the return of his card as we felt it was taking too long for 2 drinks. They replied its coming! After 5 more minutes he demanded his card. Another 5 minutes went by his card was returned. The next day he checked his account and we paid $44.00 for a dinner with drinks. We had our dinner at the wedding! We did not order from the menu. Our only deduction is that the bartender swiped our card for someone else. Anyway, several phone calls to them and its been almost three weeks, next stop BBB! Ethics? We gave them a chance..

We have eaten at Captain's Galley a few times. Each meal we have had has been good and very filling! This time was no exception. My husband had the Captain's Platter and could not finish everything. I had the seafood stuffed scallops and they were amazing.
