Went here for our 25th anniversary and decided to return for our 45th! After twenty years it was still picture perfect. The marginal walk was great and the view outstanding. Loved that you could walk everywhere and trolley to Perkins Cove, did not need a car!

Room Tip: Pick an Ocean View if you can. We had side ocean, but saw more parking lot then the ocean.

This is definitely the ultimate location in Ogunquit to stay, half way between Perkins Cove and Main Street Ogunquit. The property is outstanding nice large grassy area with adirondack chairs to sit on and relax, great pools (both indoor and outdoor) and several hot tubs. The rooms were very clean and looks like just renovated recently. The only down side to the room was for 3 people the closet space was lacking, was very small, and it was right next to the door of the bathroom, so if one person was trying to get into or out of the bathroom and another was getting something out of the closet it didn't work.

This was our first stay in this particular facility and we were very pleased. We have been in Anchorage Inns in Portsmouth, NH and York, ME and found them to be quite nice as well.

This property seems to be a cut above the others in many ways. It seems to be much newer/fresher than the others. The ocean views were wonderful. Sitting on the lawn and watching the tide and waves roll in and out cannot be beat. There is a nice little gazebo where we met up with friends and shared some beverages and snacks before heading out to dinner. The Inn is located in a great spot to be able to walk to almost anythoing in town and also near by Perkins Cove. It is situated directly on the Marginal Way.

Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Our only "complaint" was that the closet was very small and in a strange place.

Been staying at this property for 20 plus years and still consider it to bet in town. One of the few properties that has it all. Restaurant on site, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, and amazing views of the ocean. In addition based upon location you can walk everywhere and not worry about traffic and parking. Sure the room are not luxury but they are always clean.

Anchorage By The Sea was recommended to my husband and I by one of our sons. We absolutely loved it and cannot wait to go back again.

Ogunquit, ME is a very beautiful area and The Anchorage By The Sea rewards visitors with a an amazing view. The Marginal Walk sits just beyond the property. At Breakfast the first morning, I was lucky to have the best burrito ever. In evening, a stop at the grill, not only provides excellent food but a few laughs with the bar staff as well.

We saw West Side Story at the Ogunquit Playhouse and it was Broadway in Maine. Will be back in Ogunquit again and The Anchorage By The Sea will be the hotel of choice.

This is the kind of place you want to keep secret..so you can have all the place to yourself!.....The rooms are all updated and are lovely with a nautical theme...housekeeping does a fantastic job...the atmosphere is peaceful ...the grounds are kept to the upmost for beauty, seasonal flowers in abundance, and cleaniness!
The restaurant offers 3 meals a day and the quality is suberb!
We have our family reunion here for the 3rd year running! It's location offers something for everyone from the young adults to the grand folks!

We have been coming to the Ogunquit area for more than 30 years and love it. The beautiful beach, the wonderful sunsets, the people and, of course, the lobsters! We stayed at another local hotel for many years but moved over to the Anchorage last year and returned again this year because we were very satisfied. We already have booked our room for next August.

We prefer the Starboard side in one of the rooms with a beach view that is close to the Marginal Way. The second floor rooms are clearly quieter since it seems clear that hotel management tries to house the families on the first (parking) level. During the late afternoon it is great to sit outside your room, have a drink and watch the sunset. By the way, during the summer there are a lot of families at the Anchorage; so, do not expect a quiet experience. The pool gets crowded with young kids and it is often difficult to get a lounge chair either at the pool or the grassy area facing the water (people get out early and save chairs with their towels).

As a resort hotel there is a bar and restaurant and it looks like many people (again, especially families) have three meals a day at the hotel. We sometimes have a quick breakfast at their small café but like to mix it up by walking into town for coffee and a muffin at a great bakery called "Bread and Roses" or go down Shore Road to the wonderful Café Amore for a full breakfast.

Our king room provided us with plenty of space. It was clean and fairly modern and the housekeeping staff was outstanding. We found the front desk staff to be friendly and accommodating each time we dealt with them in person or on the phone.

The location is close to perfect. It is a short walk into town, a slightly longer walk to the beach and you have easy access to the famous Marginal Way - a beautiful walk along the rocky coast to Perkins Cove where you find shops, restaurants and lobster boats.

Room Tip: You pay more but the "Beach View" rooms closest to the water are excellent. Families will...
