I stayed here 2 nights with my partner. As noted by other guests, the location is unbeatable, right at the main intersection of town across from the Front Porch, THE piano bar in Ogunquit. Unlike another reviewer, I found the owners very welcoming. I had a long conversation with one of them over breakfast, and he was interesting and charming. I stayed in a room that shares a bathroom with another room. The room and bathroom were very clean. No shampoo was provided, but plenty of soap and towels. I appreciated that they asked you to keep towels more than one night for environmental reasons, and unlike most hotels that claim they are saving the environment, they actually DID leave our towels unchanged and hanging where we left them in our room. (For the ardent environmentalist, however, they have liquid antibacterial soap for handwashing at various sinks, which is toxic for the ocean's fish...oh well, can't have it all.) Breakfast was continental plus, meaning hard boiled eggs and yoghurt, both of which were quite nice additions. In warm weather we might have eaten outside, but instead chose to eat inside. There is only one real table for eating, which seats 4, and otherwise, you make due on various sofas and cushioned chairs. The common areas were very nicely decorated, and included a piano and a TV with DVD player. In our room, there was small TV, no DVD player. I didn't ask them for reservations, so I can't comment on that point. The pool and hot tub looked nice and well maintained, but it was too cold for us to use at this time of year, so no further comment. They provide free internet access and, although we didn't avail ourselves of this, passes to a local gym. Two small dogs roam around - for those of you with allergies. The major downsides were that the walls were a bit thin, so you can hear others and even people in the bathroom across the hall. And our mattress was definitely on the firm side of comfortable. But, since we made our reservations only 2 nights before showing up, we can't complain since the rate we got was a bargain, comparable to what we were seeing in Orbitz for cheap motels in the area. Maybe it's the off season thing?
