“Perfect location for families”
Reviewed July 8, 2014

The Colonial is not right on the water, but is about 3 hotels down from the start of the Marginal Way. The pricing difference between the Colonial and the others along the same strip make the Colonial the best bargain because even though others are right on the water, you still cannot walk right down to the ocean. The Colonial reminded me of some hotels that I stayed in as a kid with a small pool and shuffleboard that were both inviting to young kids. Nate (Manager) was very helpful and allowed us to check in early and went out of his way to make us feel welcome.

Room Tip: We stayed in the adjacent building to the main hotel and found that it was nice and quiet.

We stayed at the Colonial Inn for the first time over the July 4th holiday. We came off the road very hot after quite a bit of traffic. We began to relax immediately when we were welcomed by Casey at the Colonial Inn desk, and she met us in the Garden building to show us where to park right in front of our unit. We entered our air-conditioned room where the sun was pouring in.

There is a large and well-maintained pool and hot tub open from 8-10 daily and we swam and soaked as much as we could.

The inn and surrounding buildings seem like it was recently updated. The rooms are very well-appointed and newly furnished, and we had a king-sized bed. The bath was lovely and ample. Large mini-fridge, in-room coffee and flat screen television.

This is most conveniently located to downtown Ogunquit; we could walk to the shops and restaurants, and is right near the Marginal Way coastal walk which we did every day.

We hope to return again, and highly recommend the Colonial Inn.

We stayed at the Colonial Inn for two nights and we absolutely loved our stay. We had an amazing view of the ocean and enjoyed the downstairs porch/veranda, pool, and access to the village and Marginal Way. Service was excellent, the staff was always very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The owner of the property even took the time to introduce himself and make sure we were having a good stay. An overall great experience, only thing we'd change is having a mini fridge in the room. Highly recommend the ocean view rooms for couples.

We spent a week at The Colonial around July 4th and have to say, even know the fireworks were cancelled due to the weather, it was a great week and a great stay. The staff was absolutely great, our room was excellent, the breakfast was perfect, and the pool was a huge hit with our 2 year old.

I found this Inn online and after seeing all the renovations, decided this would be the choice for my family. The renovations are great and show as soon as you drive up! We have already recommended The Colonial to family members and will certainly be making this Inn part of our future family trips.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor and although we could hear people walking above us, the noise was mini...

Never having been to the area, we were uncertain of where to stay and happened upon The Colonial Inn during an always trusty tripadvisor search. We took a chance based on the reviews with regard to convenient location, cleanliness and quality of the recent renovation of the property and we could not have been more pleased! The staff was courteous and informative and the Inn itself is just beautiful and, as others have said, remarkably tidy, cozy and comfortable. Room was surprisingly large, as was the bathroom, and both were perfectly decorated in a beach cottage theme. The Inn's wrap-around front porch just begs for a glass of iced tea and a book, and while we did not take advantage of the pool, preferring to visit the beach instead, that too look well maintained. Continental breakfast is sufficient and fruit was always fresh, which is very nice and somewhat unusual to see, though if you want something more substantial, visit The Cove Cafe and get the Belgian waffle with Blueberry compote--yum:)!
Having already begged my husband to return to Ogunquit as soon as we can, we would not hesitate to book at The Colonial Inn again!

This is the best place we have stayed in since coming to Maine. The staff is superb and always willing to go the extra mile. Rooms are clean and location is quiet, yet close enough to walk to main area.
