My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend 27-29 July. The location is amazing! Private parking, right in town, 5 min walk to the beach and 5 min walk to the entrance of Marginal Way. We stayed in a 2nd floor motel unit with great ocean views. The room was much larger than I expected. It included cathedral ceilings and a 2nd floor loft. Our room was very clean but could have used some updating. The age of the room had no impact on our great experience. The inclusive continental breakfast was a perfect start to the day. We took a short 2 mile drive to Frankie & Johnny's in York for the best dinner ever! The setting is very unpretentious, small and quirky. If you are looking for a break from trendy ambiance and don't mind BYOB... this is a must! We went to the Piano bar Sat night and it was a great time! We are looking forward to another great stay! We may consider bringing our 2 and 6yr old boys because they would also have a blast!

We stayed on Saturday & Sunday. We had a spectacular corner room in the redone motel unit. It had a large king size bed, and four windows, which all had screens. We never find that in many places we have stayed. The room was ready early, when we arrived. It is a spotless property, that has a wonderful staff. They have a beautiful pool, and the room comes with a continental breakfast. You have the beauty of the location of this hotel. It faces the river and ocean, and they have very comfortable chairs and lounges, for all to enjoy. We had perfect weather. We ate the at the Front Porch upstairs, and love the piano music and singers. On Sunday we dined at 98 Provence. The restaurant was spectacular and ended our wonderful two night getaway. This property is truly a hidden gem.

Room Tip: We love the rooms in the motel unit. They have all been renovated and are spectacular!

The first thing Terrace by the Sea got right was location. Just down a side street from the center of bustling Ogunquit TBTS sits on a peaceful knoll overlooking both the mouth of the Ogunquit River and Ogunquit Beach. You can enjoy the view and the sun from the lawn chairs without going to the beach. But if you want to go you are right along the footpath toward the bridge and beach. Second thing right is free wifi- too many places charge for an amenity that is essentially costless to the proprietor. Then there's a simple but nice breakfast included in the room cost: fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, toast and coffee (all day). New York Times, complementary, means you can read the paper over breakfast on the outdoor porch which, like the lawn, overlooks both river and beach. We think the rooms are best in the inn building but there are several adjacent motel buildings which the owners have acquired over time and which are adequate. TBTS is not fancy but rather it feels homey. And if you want to practice your French there are lots of French-Canadian guests: les Quebecois aussi aiment cette lieu.

My husband and I stayed for 10 days at the Terrace over 4th of July week. Our first two nites were in the main inn. The room looked right out to the ocean...it was awesome! The room was clean and blessedly cool when we checked it...it was 95 degrees when we checked in. When we left the next day to go to the beach, we'd shut off the air conditioner, but soon realized as we were getting off the beach because it was to hot, we made a quick phone call to the front desk to ask if they'd turn it on before we got back. Erin was so helpful and nice about doing so, it was one more check mark in the plus column for us! For the rest of our stay, we were in the building that is on the footpath. They have a small kitchenette, and the view is to die for!! We had our breakfast out on the porch every day...it was WONDERFUL!! The staff ( with a shout out to Erin!!) is friendly and so super accomodating, that as we checked out, we reserved for next year!! We're also going back for Labor Day weekend! If you're looking for a clean and friendly place to stay....the Terrace is TOPS!!!

Stayed here a few times with my mother and sisters in the last few years in spring time and really liked it. Just came back from an overnight with my husband and summer at Terrace by the Sea is just terrific. Great staff, fab location, nice rooms....all good. We were assigned to a "partial ocean view" that was quite nice...certainly more than expected! Very peaceful without being staid.

We absolutely loved this place. We stayed at a chain motel in York the night before and just were not ready to go home so we looked around Ogunquit. We were treated with utmost respect although we had just walked in to inquire about rooms and pricing. We selected a room that was less expensive - no ocean view and not in the main building. We still loved it! It was the most spacious and best outfitted 'motel-style' room I've ever stayed in. They have a parking lot with your own assigned space so there's no bumping you out of your spot. You can walk to restaurants, bars, and the beach. The only drawback is minor in that although the ocean is right in front of the inn it's a bit of a walk to actually get to the beach. On the plus side both the calmer river as well as the ocean are right there. The main house looks and feels like a lovely b&b with antiques in the living room and coffee and tea available all day. The breakfast is a more than sufficient continental breakfast. I almost hate to be writing this review as we hope to stay again and want 'our' room to be available!

Room Tip: Ask about lower priced rooms that are not in the main building.

After visiting Ogunquit for the first time we came back two weeks later and decided to stay in a different place. We definitely don't regret choosing Terrace. The location is perfect. We stayed in the main building and our ocean view room was spotless, comfortable and fresh. The only complaint we may have is the fact that our bathroom was a little too small (no bath tub just a shower). Breakfast was basic but almost everything tastes great when you eat you meal during sunny morning on an ocean-view porch with a cooling breeze. The whole facility is well maintained and organized and staff is very nice and friendly. Prices are reasonable especially if you consider one of the best locations in town. We're coming back there.
