My partner and I stayed at this Inn to get acquainted with the town. The town was your typical Maine small tourist town with a multitude of shops, restaurants, and B&B/Inns. Admiral's Inn is located on the main drag (Rt. 1 which becomes Main St.) The Inn is about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the beach or Perkin's Cove. A five minutes' walk will get you to the Marginal Way. Afternoon/evening traffic tends to bunch up in front of the Inn due to the cross walks that stops cars closer to town center.

Offerings of the Inn are spread out among the 4 buildings. The two older building reflect more of the Maine Inn style accommodations while the two new buildings take on more of the modern motel motif. There is a family swimming pool located at one building, and adult pool and Jacuzzi and gym at another building, and a restaurant at still another building. Our room was functional with a comfortable bed and nice shower; however, the bathroom linen was a bit on the thin side.

The down side for us was: at registration they could only offer us 1 key to the room b/c the previous guess had walked away with the 2nd key. Part of me thinks this could pose a security risk issue. Only one small waste paper bin which tended to fill up quickly was located in the room. Although it had a very nice bathroom, towel racks were all but non existent (one on the back of the door). Has no one thought of adding another?

You will find yourself walking up and down Rt. 1 to get to where you want to be. The tar sidewalk is narrow and the cars zoom by. Only one side of the street has the walkway.

If I were to return to Ogunquit, I would have no issue staying at this Inn. However, given a choice I might try to find a place with a bit more to offer.

I booked a last minute overnight and had a great experience.

Pros:

*the room was gigantic, everything was spotless, the bed was really comfy
*we got there before check in and Ioan at the front desk was so gracious, let us park so we could walk the 10 minutes to the beach and let us use the facilities
* LOTS of tv channels
* decent coffee in coffee machine in room
* amazing shower pressure
* pool was clean
* 5 minutes to town center, avoiding all that crazy Ogunquit traffic

Cons:
* I'm struggling to think of any, but maybe it would be that internet was spotty.

We arrived late and got the last available room on July 10. It was in the original inn building. It should have been used for dead storage. It should never have been rented to paying customers ($181 w/tax). The night was hot and steamy and the room's overhead fan did not work. The deskman said he'd fix it 'tomorrow', It only required a pull cord. Without the fan we had to rely on the AC which was noisy and blew directly across the bed. The room was so tiny the AC unit was barely six inches from the bed, I could not stand between bed and AC.The adjacent room's AC butted directly against our AC so every time it came on the room shook and that exterior noise went on all night long. The wooden deck outside acted like a sounding board for the AC's, amplifying their cacaphony. It also was an extremely noisy and busy access to 6 other rooms.

The room was at the head of a long stairway that also had loud traffic up and down until after 1 am. The people above us were loud and stomped around their floor well into the morning.There was no way to contact the desk and we never did get any sleep in that hell-hole.

The sink had no ledge or shelf so if you wanted to put your razor or toothbrush down, it went onto the floor. In mitigation the room had an excellent toilet. The shower however was not large enough to turn around in. 1 tiny bar of soap and 2 thin towels comprised the bath accommodations.

The other buildings in the complex were decent, but the landlord's egregious greed was clearly evident as he tried to squeeze the last penny out of his establishment with this woefully inadequate room.

In the moring the deskman tried to convince me it was our fault that the room was so bad. After hearing my story he said we should have been prepared to 'make allowances' because of our late booking. He never acknowledged our complaint or gave it any validation. He did phone the owner who wanted to hear our story again, despite having heard quite enough to damn his operation from the deskman. I had wasted enough time trying to explain to the deskman who had absolutely no concept of symmetry, and being anxious to join the rest of our waiting family, declined the owner's offer to talk. One confrontation with a moron was quite enough.

Our grown children stayed in a newer section of the inn with their kids. They reported they were satisfied with their accommodations. They enjoyed meeting people around the fire pit.

Room Tip: Do not stay in the old hotel that fronts on Rte 1.

Thank you, Mark, Carleen & Chris for making our stay in Ogunquit such a pleasurable one. The accommodations were wonderful. Very clean and friendly. Loved our little balcony off our bedroom which had a luxurious King bed. The refrigerator was an added bonus. The Inn is in a very convenient location. We enjoyed the "Adults Only" aspect of our section of the Complex.

I am new to writing reviews but had to write about this wonderful, well situated, affordable and friendly place we came upon! The bed was comfortable, plenty of towels in bath, and came with an Ipad to use. The family pool was too cold for me so we went over to the small adult pool which was perfect, and the hot tub was actually hot! We parked the car and never needed it. We walked to the beach, Perkin's Cove via The Marginal Way, to dinner at Roberto's, to town for shopping, loving a bakery and The Harbor candy shop that sells the vegan candy I order online. The new owner's Kris and (?) are nothing less than fantastic....very friendly, sweet, welcoming, let us use an iphone charger as I forgot mine. I slept so unusually well, and will definitely stay here from now on our trips to beautiful Ogunquit.

This Inn was worth every penny. Stayed in the New building and it is adult only with its own private pool which was very nice. It is walking distance to downtown and the beach. Also, a short drive back to York. The staff were so nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and came with a fridge.

A group of us had gone for a weekend birthday celebration and we had a great time. We were well accommodated and right near everything. We didn't our car at all. We were able to walk to everything and had a comfortable room on the second floor with outdoor seating. The staff was knowledgeable and gave great recommendations of where to go and what to do as it was our first time there. We found this place to be clean, friendly, well maintained and in a great location. Whether you're going for a long weekend or a week I think you'll find this hotel to be an excellent choice. We can't wait till our next trip and to stay here again!!
