Description: Enjoy lobster, steamers, lobster rolls, chowder and a whole lot more in a friendly, casual atmosphere. Live lobsters caught by local lobstermen wait in tanks filled with ocean water coming straight from the cove. Choose your size and two sides. For all the taste without the work, have a lobster roll any way you like it...a quarter pound single, double-stuffed, triple, or an entire pound on a buttery toasted roll with or without mayo. The lobster wrap and lobster BLT are also recently added favorites. Homemade chowder made from an old family recipe is a great way to start your meal, there's no thickening flour just the perfect combination of clams, fish, potatoes, onions and spices in a milk and cream base. The "Shack" has been owned and operated by the Evans family since the 1980s and is proud to serve the hottest chowder and the coldest beer in town. Let Jason, his family and his crew provide you with a true Maine eating experience in the oldest restaurant in Perkins Cove...

“Wicked little place”
Reviewed August 9, 2014 via mobile

Had to be patient finding a parking place and a little wait in the queue but we were well rewarded. This place is a gem. Great food from a simple menu focused on lobster. Order as you go in then wait for the tasty food to be delivered. If you are only staying one night go here. If you are staying two go back again.

“Great casual place for lunch”
Reviewed August 9, 2014

We ate lunch here last week and loved it. It is very casual, with big long tables and benches. The employees are very pleasant and the food is excellent and priced fairly. I had a 1 3/4 pound lobster that was terrific. Their cole slaw is good but different than most places. It is more vinegar based rather than mayonnaise and it is quite tasty. The lobster rolls were fantastic. Chowder was also very good. Good meal in a cute location in the middle of Perkins Cove. We even got to see the former President when we finished lunch - not a bad day!

This gem is located on Perkins Cove in Ogunquit. The menu offers lots of lobster, steamed clams and fresh fish sandwiches. Their prices are reasonable, their service is quick and very pleasant. Go here for a wonderful lunch or dinner! Enjoy!

“Great food. And that's what matters.”

You shouldn't mess too much with lobster and these folks know it. Keep it simple, don't overcook it and serve it with a nice local brew. The Lobster Shack does all that. I'm glad I went.
