Description: Enjoy lobster, steamers, lobster rolls, chowder and a whole lot more in a friendly, casual atmosphere. Live lobsters caught by local lobstermen wait in tanks filled with ocean water coming straight from the cove. Choose your size and two sides. For all the taste without the work, have a lobster roll any way you like it...a quarter pound single, double-stuffed, triple, or an entire pound on a buttery toasted roll with or without mayo. The lobster wrap and lobster BLT are also recently added favorites. Homemade chowder made from an old family recipe is a great way to start your meal, there's no thickening flour just the perfect combination of clams, fish, potatoes, onions and spices in a milk and cream base. The "Shack" has been owned and operated by the Evans family since the 1980s and is proud to serve the hottest chowder and the coldest beer in town. Let Jason, his family and his crew provide you with a true Maine eating experience in the oldest restaurant in Perkins Cove...

We took a walk down Marginal Way with the sole intention of having a good lunch. We were not disappointed. The staff was very friendly, and the food was amazing. I would go back here again and again and again.

We stopped by the Lobster Shack after having lunch at another local place where we paid almost double for our lobsters without any sides! We made sure to make this our stop for next lunch and got the special of 2 1lb. lobsters and corn on the cob for only $20. This was by far the best lunch we had in Maine and went back the next day for lunch again. The chowder was the best we ever had and even our kids loved it! Lobster roll was also very fulfilling. If we had more time in Ogunquit we would have stopped again. Next time we are in town we are not wasting our time or money at any other places. The Lobster Shack is the place to go to!!! The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. The service was extremely fast and even though there was a long line outside, we never waited more than 10 min.!!

It is a tiny little Place near the end of Perkins Cove, from the outside does not look like too much. The food, however is fantastic. We had the lunch special of chowder, and a lobster roll. There was a huge amount of lobster in the roll, and was fresh, and delicious. The clam chowder was some of the best I have had anywhere. It gets busy at lunchtime, and you may have a wait, but it is very well worth it!

Authentic shack food. Simple seafood, done right. Look for the specials, like lobster roll with chowder. Chowder is just right, not too soupy, not too thick.

Bottom Line: Lobster comes in from the boats across the street! Excellent service in a quint little town.

Details: We stopped here after walking The Marginal Way and were so taken that we stopped by again the next day. The restaurant is small and the lines can be long but they move very quickly. The staff was incredibly friendly and the restaurant is clean. This is a great little gem in a little gem of a town. This was the complete opposite of the horrific experience we had in a similar place in York the night before. Highly recommended!
