Description: Enjoy lobster, steamers, lobster rolls, chowder and a whole lot more in a friendly, casual atmosphere. Live lobsters caught by local lobstermen wait in tanks filled with ocean water coming straight from the cove. Choose your size and two sides. For all the taste without the work, have a lobster roll any way you like it...a quarter pound single, double-stuffed, triple, or an entire pound on a buttery toasted roll with or without mayo. The lobster wrap and lobster BLT are also recently added favorites. Homemade chowder made from an old family recipe is a great way to start your meal, there's no thickening flour just the perfect combination of clams, fish, potatoes, onions and spices in a milk and cream base. The "Shack" has been owned and operated by the Evans family since the 1980s and is proud to serve the hottest chowder and the coldest beer in town. Let Jason, his family and his crew provide you with a true Maine eating experience in the oldest restaurant in Perkins Cove...

“Excellent Food and Seervice”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

This was a late lunch stop for us while on vacation in Ogunquit. We were looking for good food in a simple environment and this was it. The Lobster Roll was excellent, lots of meet and not drowned in mayo. My wife is not a seafood eater so she had a burger which was made to her specifications and she enjoyed very much. The simple nature of the interior is part of the charm and the prices are very competitive for the area. Service was wonderful. We felt bad for our waitress as the large group in the table next to use thought it appropriate to drop their shells on the floor so she could pick them up. Despite this the waitress remained pleasant to this group. More than I would have done! We will be up in Maine again next year and will be back to eat at the Lobster Shack.

“Simple, yet Delicious”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

The lobster roll and fish chowder at the Lobster Shack in Perkins Cove is about as good a lunch as you can get. You order at the window and they hand over a bowl of their hot fish chowder to enjoy while waiting for the lobster roll to toast. When the lobster roll is delivered to the table it's adorned with nothing but fresh lobster, moistened slightly with dressing. Cole slaw and chips accompany the roll and, should you choose to, you can order beer or wine to round off your lunch. The service was quick, the picnic tables were clean, and everything was delicious. You'll find a lot of lobster rolls in Perkins Cove and nearby, this is one you won't want to miss.

“Good option in a busy area”
Reviewed May 20, 2014

We ordered takeout...lobster roll and chowder. The chowder had fish in it, and was outstanding. The lobster roll was our first one, so really can't compare it to others, but we did enjoy having the rich, sweet lobster already cleaned and in a toasted bun with a little mayo...yummy. The bowl of chowder and lobster roll were ample for 2 people.
