“You gotta love this place!”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

It's ridiculously charming, super authentic, has cool old photos and do-dads on display, is very affordable, and the service was perfect. We tried the crab cakes and the blueberry pancakes. Both were terrific. If you don't love this place you're just not in the spirit. The quintessential New England breakfast place. I'd be so happy to have the Cove Cafe in my town.

“Blueberry Pancakes and More”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

This quaint Cafe offers the best blueberry pancakes ever eaten. They also have blueberry juice which we have never seen on menu before.Menu has many selection of breakfast foods and then some of their own combinations. We had lobster benedict, blueberry pancakes, eggs with sausage home fries and corned beef hash, veggie omlet and pancakes.Very friendly waittress and atmosphere. The Cafe is not very large and sometime there is a wait outside. The food is very good and prices are reasonable. We were so pleased that we returned the next morning. Our family consisted of 4 adults and a 3 year old who ate 2 delicious pancakes.

“Good, small cafe”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

After having read great reviews for the cove cafe, we decided to stop here when we ended up in Perkins Cove at breakfast time. This is quite a small place, there can't be more than a dozen tables, if that. The food was all good, not the most amazing meal we've ever had, but no complaints. We had pancakes, lobster benedict, and a smoked salmon w/cream cheese bagel. Of all the meals, the smoked salmon was our favorite. Service was quick, we were in a hurry, and they had us in and out within 30 minutes (this was Labor Day). We got there around 8:45, and got the last open table. At 9am a swarm of people came and I'm guessing there was probably a decent wait for the rest of the morning. Definitely a decent breakfast if you are in the area.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

We had breakfast at the Cove Cafe on our last day in Ogunquit and were looking forward to a very special experience based on other reviews. Our eggs and bacon were fine and cooked to specifications. As someone who loves and makes blueberry pancakes, I was anticipating a delicious dish. Instead, I found the blueberry pancakes to be dry, pasty, and tasteless and resembling those from a packaged mix. We also paid an extra $2.50 for maple syrup and were disappointed to see the inferior darker grade of syrup used in cooking rather than the light or medium amber used for toppings. The waitress was minimally friendly, and as we left, no one on the staff, including the waitress, said "thanks for coming" or even "goodbye", even though they were not busy at that time in the morning. When compared to all the other restaurants in Ogunquit where we dined, Cove Cafe came up short in food quality, hospitality, and congeniality. Disappointing for nearly a $30.00 breakfast for two!
