Family-run diner, very nice atmosphere, spotlessly clean, and the food is great. You can get fruit instead of home fries, and baked goods are homemade. Locals as well as tourists eat here, too, which is nice. My only complaint is, the croissants are bready and terrible: made by someone who doesn't understand croissants" But stay away from them and you'll be happy at the Cove Cafe

Cove Cafe is tucked into a tiny building as you make your way down Shore Rd. into Perkins Cove. It's all knotty pine and old photos, plus a video reel showing fishing memories from someone's home movies. It's obviously family-run and is warm and inviting with all the usual eggy-luscious temptations on the breakfast menu (they serve lunch, too). I had blueberry stuffed French toast, one daughter the Belgian waffle, hubby the Eggs Benedict and our other daughter the Blueberry pancakes. All were served up promptly and with a smile. The juice is fresh squeezed! They close after Columbus Day, so hurry over or you'll have to wait until April.

My husband loves to go out to breakfast and is on a perpetual quest for the best blueberry pancakes. His search ended this morning at the Cove Cafe. The rest of us non-blueberry folks were equally happy with our food. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. The surroundings are simple and cheerful and the service friendly and efficient. Our wait was within the promised "15 to 20 minutes" and well worth it. We will put Cove Cafe on our list of favorite spots in Ogunquit.
