“Good lobster!”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

This is a casual restaurant (wooden tables and chairs) with a great view. I had a whole lobster with the fish chowder and blueberry pie for dessert and was very satisfied. The chowder was delicious and the lobster was moist and meaty. The blueberry pie was just ok, nothing to write home about. Service was fast and friendly. Not inexpensive but paid what I expected to for a lobster dinner. Would go back.

“Small, mod.expensive restaurant with ocean view”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

Ocean view located right at end of Marginal way foot walkway.
Sandwiches w/pickle and bag of chips at dinner-$13 and up range

Meals in the $20 and up range and were subject to market rates.

Scallop sandwich was excellent-scallops moist and soft, cooked perfectly and very tasty.

“Nice view; shame about the food”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

This lunch was the worst meal we ate in three weeks in Maine. Tasteless haddock in a soggy bun. Watery crab on a few leaves. This place is not worth the high prices they charge for being next to the sea. Walk the marginal way, but take a sandwich and sit on the rocks!

“Oarweed used to be packed with 1 hr. wait-No wait now-Why is that.....”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

Since 1989 my husband & I have looked forward to dinner at Oarweek 2 times during our one week stay in Ogunquit. There was always a long wait since there were no reservations were accepted, excellent service, superb lobster, seafood chowder, steamed clams & raspberry pie. The place was always busy with happy diners.

The last few years, there has been no wait, slow service and a half empty restaurant. Dennis loved his lobster each time & we enjoyed our salad. I can't eat lobster so I got steamers each time, and found them sandy & tasteless. Rolls were dry & baked potato not cooked fully. The second time we went, same thing. Great lobster at what we think is a great price with the fantastic water view. Salad excellent. So, our dinner conversation revolved around what the heck happened to Oarweed, this amazing, on the water, great food place we would wait over an hour for.

I always knew the crab cakes, fish, & shrimp were not to my liking, but wasn't thinking about that. Do the owners not care anymore? Have the lost the love of running this icon in Perkins Cove?

I go for the view, my husband's lobster....loyalty-hell, that doesn't count anymore. Guys, get yourself together. Feel the fire in your belly as Gordon Ramsey says. There is still hope.
