We stopped in for breakfast during our trip to ogunquit during Labor day weekend, having no wait should have been our first clue. We were seated and waited approx 15 minutes before someone came along, he apologized and said he had a difficult table and they were running him in circles. We placed our order, at the same time several tables around us did, but with different servers. All the surrounding tables were served long before we were, when we asked what was taking so long, he apologized and said he was behind because of the problematic table. We were given our food, with no utensils, we had to ask for forks, knives, and some type of jam/jelly for our toast, All the surrounding tables were given a plate with several choices of jams/jelly, our server said do u want orange marmalade or some other type, and gave us one little tiny cup half full of orange marmalade that covered one piece of toast. All the while watching this server jump over backwards for this particular table, as one other table pointed out, it might be because they spoke french canadian and most of us in the dining room did not. When I attempted to speak with the women at the podium in the front hall, I was told by a young girl, that she was busy and would be more than 15 minutes before she could speak with me, So take your chances, but hopefully you can speak Canadian French to get good service at this restauran!

Here is a comfortable restaurant in a small town on Route One in Maine where they have gluten free foods including bread and pastries. The menu is gourmet and the staff couldn't be more friendly.
Dinner is great, but special brunches are the best.

Three of us went for breakfast during a day trip to Ogunquit. To avoid a wait, we took a seat by the front door (in the waiting area). The service was not up to the hype of what others' told us it would be. The server seemed a bit annoyed throughout the visit. We ordered two egg dishes, and a plate of pancakes. It took 50 minutes after we ordered before the meal was served. When we inquired, the server was not concerned about checking for us. She said she didn't know when the food would be ready. During the unexceptably long wait, she did not return to provide coffee refills. At a minimum, I shouldn't have to flag down an employee to retrieve a coffee pot. The food was very good, but the wait for a simple meal wasn't worth it. There are other breakfast spots within walking distance.

Although the food was good, I thought it was over priced and portions were small.
The service was friendly. We took home some muffins from the counter. Very good.

Labor Day weekend 2012 - we just couldn't face the crowds/hassle/traffic in Ogunquit. We'd driven by Roost (on the way right on Rt 1 in nearby Cape Neddick) on our way in and decided to give it a try. SIMPY FANTASTIC! From the fluffy eggs, homemade muffins and maybe THE BEST toast ever (do not miss it!) - just fantastic. Grab a table outside and laugh at the traffic as people fight their way up Rt 1. This place is a gem!
