we booked a room at this B&B because the innkeeper sounded very friendly on the phone. We made the right decision. She is indeed very friendly and forthcoming with ideas for things to do, free rides to the beach and restaurants, renting beach chairs, you name it and she has a solution.

Breakfasts are communal and elaborate. I especially loved the deck and the garden at the back.

This one is a keeper. Hope you stay in one of nicer garden rooms the next time.

Ogunquite the town is lovely as well.

It was our first visit to Ogunquit and from the start, the innkeeper was full of great suggestions of what to see and what to do. She gave us a ride to the Marginal Way, a beautiful walk along the coast, and even offered to drive us to the beach so that we could avoid the parking fee and traffic.

We stayed in the Garden Room on the first floor. The room was spacious, full of light, and spotlessly clean. It had a comfortable king-size bed, a couch, a fridge, a walk-in closet, and an inviting rocking chair. The small TV atop the dresser is the old, boxy sort (there's a flat-screen TV in the lounge if you must watch one), but with all the things to do in town, a beach nearby, and a tree swing in the yard, we barely watched it.

For breakfast, we had a choice of eggs, french toast, or pancakes. We both chose french toast, which was stuffed with apples, cinnamon, and raisins; topped with ice cream; and served with sausages. The coffee, bread, and fruit cup that accompanied it were also first-rate. The best part? A sunny morning meant we got to enjoy the terrific meal outside on the patio.

Although Almost Home Inn is a little farther from the town center and doesn't have an ocean-side view, it more than makes up for it with its charm and its extremely gracious innkeeper who will go to any length to guarantee you have a wonderful time.

The owner went so far beyond what I normally expect from a B+B owner - from calling us while we were en route to coordinate arrival times...to my wife's dietary needs...to acting as a travel guide and chaufering us to a gorgeous ocean walk. The room was great. I made a suggestion that she put a ceiling fan in to save on energy costs. The next morning she told "I'm having an electrician come in the afternoon after you leave to install a ceiling fan." Talk about listening to the customer...

Visited with a group of friends for our Book Club weekend get-a-way. We had a wonderful weekend it was very relaxed. The Inn has a main sitting room that is comfortably furnished, with a gas fireplace and a flat screen TV, and a dining area used for the breakfast. The back yard has outdoor seating, a bench swing from one of the trees (that rocked me to sleep one afternoon), a patio with table for dining, and a fire pit, that was used by other guests one night. There is also a patio in front of the inn with several umbrella tables. We were able to have breakfast on the front patio on a beautiful Sunday morning. Each room has a fridge, couch, king bed, and private bath. The beds are very comfortable, so comfortable we wanted to know the mattress brand. Jacqui, the Innkeeper, is a lovely and gracious host. Not only is she a great cook, the breakfast each morning was yummy, she is also engaging with the guest, has an easy going manner and a good sense of humor. Almost Home Inn is a great place - I highly recommend it.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay here the weekend of May 15. It was our first, and hopefully not last, stay here.

The inn is located a mile or so from the town center and the beaches. All the restaurants, shops and sights are within walking distance, for those able to walk a couple of miles in one day. During the peak season, I hear, there is trolley service, with a stop near the inn, that you can use to get around the town. The inn's location, away from all the other hotels, is perfect for those who want to get away from the busy areas to get a good night's sleep after a busy day of sight-seeing.

The inn and grounds are beautiful. There are plenty of seats in the common rooms, and on the patio, deck and lawns for guests to enjoy the surroundings. Based on comments from the other guests, all the suites are well-appointed, super clean, comfortable, and (as stated on the website) have private entrances from the outside. My boyfriend and I stayed in the large, airy Garden Room, which is the only guest room on the first floor. The website's photos do not do this room justice. There is plenty of space to spread out your stuff, a large walk-in closet, lots of comfortable seating, a good-sized shower and windows facing all 4 directions. The only drawback might be the large, east-facing windows. They do let in a lot of light which might be bothersome for light sleepers, or those wanting to sleep in a little late in the morning. The room-darkening shades do provide guests complete privacy, but some light does get into the room. But then, without the large windows, this room would not be so airy and beautiful in the daytime.

The best part about our stay here, however, was the innkeeper, Jacqui. She really looks out for her guests, gets to know them a little, puts together a scrumptious breakfast, provides wine, cheese & crackers for her guests' first day, makes restaurant suggestions and dinner reservations. Our second night here, Jacqui helped us set up a fire pit in the backyard; she was so excited that we were her first guests of the season to enjoy the grounds. Jacqui really went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable and stress-free. She made us feel like we were Almost Home.

What a wonderful weekend our bookclub had! We had our meeting and potluck dinner while Jacqui (owner) provided wine. Jacqui was amazing. Her hospitality exceeds all expectations and her knowledge of the area was great! Rooms were lovely and her breakfasts were superb!!! I will be recommending this place to all my friends and family.
