We really enjoyed the place. It's less than 5 minutes walk from Perkins's Cove. The trolley picks you up in front on the hotel if you want to go to the beach. We had a room and a little living room, with a covered balcony. Really comfy. We'll book again, fantastic place to stay.

Heidi and Philippe were very gracious hosts and a pleasure to deal with.
The entire stay was fun filled and so close to the marginal way and of course Barnacle Billies.
The trolley stopped at the hotel to take you to all the places to visit.
I felt very secure and safe at the hotel. The maid service was superb and all so very nice.
I have been coming for many years and staying here and the service just gets better and better.

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms. The second floor does have a balcony and is relaxing.

I visited the Grand Hotel last week along with my daughter and her friend. The location was perfect and the parking convenient. It was perhaps about a quarter of a mile to Perkins Cove.

We had a spacious one bedroom suite with a large living area and pull out couch and a good sized bedroom with a very comfortable king sized bed. We especially liked the porch located outside of the bedroom. We enjoyed our continental breakfast on the porch in the morning. The hotel is a bit dated but is equipped with two flat screened TVs, and a nice "kitchenette" with wet bar, refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom was also a decent size and was updated with a granite countertop. Nice amenities such as scented shampoo, lotion, and even make up remover wipes were provided.

The girls enjoyed the indoor pool. It is, however, rather small and circular and I was disappointed that I could not swim a few laps. The hot tub is located right outside on the lovely deck which is very peaceful. Once again, the hot tub is rather small and a bit shallow.

There have been complaints by other reviewers regarding the complimentary continental breakfast. However, we were very pleased. The breakfast included boiled eggs, oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, muffins, pastries, cereals, juices, coffee, tea and cocoa. Beverages and cookies are also available in the afternoon.

Perkins Cove is a lovely place to visit. If you don't wish to walk, you can take the trolley which stops right in front of the hotel. (every 10 minutes?) We particularly enjoyed a small deli located at the very end of the cove. It was quite reasonable and had excellent chowder and awesome baked goods. We were able to sit outside on their deck which was located right on the beach. The girls enjoyed hunting for shells and sea glass.

We had a wonderful time at the Grand and received excellent customer service!

We are delighted to know our location, amenities and complimentary continental breakfast pleased you. If you should return for another stay, we hope you will also consider taking advantage of the amenities our sister property, Pink Blossoms Family Resort, has to offer. We booked a last minute trip to Ogunquit and of course used Tripadvisor to guide us in our accommodation choice. The Grand Hotel was a perfect location between town and Perkins Cove. We arrived at 12:30 in the afternoon and our room was not yet ready. Check in was at 3pm. Heidi invited us to leave our car and walk to Perkins Cove. She said she'd call when the room was ready. She called us at 1, when we were eating lunch. She also gave us a great tip to go to The Front Porch that evening to the piano bar. We did and had a ball! We will definitely stay there again.

Have stayed several times at "sister property" Pink Blossoms.... always a treat. Could not find availability, so tried "The Grand". VERY comfortable, terrific service, underground parking. Free continental breakfast... What's not to like???

Room Tip: Had a lovely 3rd floor suite, with LARGE balcony!

Dear Sovernet, We are so pleased you enjoyed your first stay with us at The Grand. Having stayed at our sister property, Pink Blossoms, you can see that although the 2 properties are quite different physically, both share the same philosophies; clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff and great service. We were very pleased to have you stay with us and appreciate your writing such a nice review. Have a great summer!

Loved being able to walk to Perkins Cove and Marginal Way, and not far fr the beach either. Our suite was very adequate with a sitting room, good sized bedroom and microwave/fridge between the two. My only comment is they could have better quality bed linens! Having a small deck off the bedroom was nice with a pleasant view. Sitting on the deck watching folk walk by was pleasant as we enjoyed two gorgeous NE cool days. Staff were very pleasant, and even though we didn't use the indoor pool or jacuzzi, both looked quite nice. For the price I would definitely recommend The Grand Hotel, but if you want an ocean view, look elsewhere!

My husband and I have been staying at the Grand Hotel for many years and have never had a bad experience. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is quiet, fairly upscale and very restful. Our room is always clean, fresh-smelling and comfortable, with a small deck for reading, birdwatching or just standing there and saying (as I do), "It's so nice to be here!"

There's a TV in the bedroom and in the living area, a small refrigerator for storing our drinks and take-home lobster, and a fairly roomy bathroom with an awesome shower. The continental breakfast is very adequate for us---it sure beats the $16 breakfasts at the restaurant next door! It's also within walking distance of several shops, galleries, restaurants and Perkins Cove (home of the famous and fabulous Barnacle Billy's) right down the street.

If you're going to beach it, it's a quick car ride (if you don't mind paying $25 to park in the beach lot), or a cheap and scenic one in any one of the trolleys that stop right outside the hotel every 15 minutes.

During our stay last week, we were pleased to see that they had given the place a fresh coat of paint, replaced the mattresses and bedding with even more comfortable ones, and improved the water pressure in the shower. (Can you tell that good showers are really important to me?)

The Grand Hotel exemplifies the slogan on the sign that we see whenever we cross the border into Maine---it's "The Way Life Should Be"!
