My wife and I spent 3 nights in early May 2012 at the Sea Rose in Ogunquit and despite uncertain weather we enjoyed the stay: very nice and spacious suite on the main building (reception) and so convenient being at a short walking distance from Olgunquit town and the Marginal Way. Special thanks to Olga at the reception desk who has been so full of attention, very kind to us and pleasant to talk to.
We will cetainly come back next year (the lobster season!)

-Background Information-
Travel dates: May 25-28, 2012
Agent: We made our reservation by calling the front desk.
Travelers: 4 Adults; Friends/ Early 30s

Located on picturesque Shore Road, Sea Rose Suites provides an affordable alternative to a traditional hotel room. Our group consists of night owls and (sometimes) early risers. For this reason, we prefer the sleeping quarters to be set aside from the general living area.

Our group requested a two bedroom townhouse in the River Terrace House. Suite 207 was situated toward the back of the property and very quiet. While there are a few steps before getting to the room, the front of house staff offered to assist with our baggage. While we did not require help, the gesture was appreciated.

The staff also offered suggestions in the local area for dinner and could not have been more welcoming. It felt like arriving at a country inn where the innkeeper took time to greet each guest. (Minus the odd communal aspects of a bed breakfast, so privacy and leisure are fully maintained.)

Both interior and exterior renovations appear to have been recently completed. The unit was clean and spacious. It was a great set-up for our group. Having an extra half bath helped with getting ready to go out at night. (This could also work well with a couple/grandparents on the upstairs level and a young family sharing the garden level.) The rooms were well appointed. The white bedding was fluffy and crisp while the bed was firm and comfortable. In the living area, we sat 3 on the sofa and 1 sat at the high-top table within the same space while using the free wireless which maintained a strong connection.

Perkins Cove, the Village of Ogunquit, and the Marginal Way were all nearby and within walking distance. A few favorite stops included:
- The Front Porch, spirited piano bar. Great staff!
- 98 Provence, delightful breakfast.
- La Pizzeria, casual Italian fare.
- Bread & Roses, European style bakery.
- Spoiled Rotten, inspired home decor... Welcoming, well stocked.
- Toy Shop in Perkins Cove, great old-fashioned toy and novelty offerings. Affordable.
- Perkins Cove Draw Bridge, classic New England charm. Cross to lawn area for a break.
- Angelina's, Italian fine dining. Mussels Fra Diavolo was spectacular. Stellar service.
- Run (or walk) along the Marginal Way is a must. Get out and explore the village and cove.

There was plenty to see and do, and I look forward returning and booking with the friendly staff at Sea Rose Suites.

---
A little advice: Dinner at neighboring Roberto's was a disaster! Though convenient, walking just a little bit in either direction would be well advised.

---
Happy travels.

The Sea Rose Suites is conveniently located between Perkins Cove and the center of town which allowed us to walk to these locations instead of having to drive. I've never stayed in cleaner accommodations in my life. The suite has a fully equipped kitchen, living room area and King sized bed in a nice size bedroom.
The only two cons worth mentioning are that there is NO elevator. So any and all bags need to be carried up two flights of steps if your suite happens to be on the second floor, and we were disappointed that our dirty dishes were left dirty in the kitchen sink after our daily maid service. We wound up washing them ourselves. Other than that, I HIGHLY recommend the Sea Rose Suites to any and all travelers to Ogunquit.

Thank you so much Fay S for taking the time to write such a nice review. We are so proud of Debbie, our head housekeeper and her staff. They work very hard to maintain the cleanliness that you so nicely noted. We too wish that we had an elevator, but in the full season we do have someone available to help with the bags if necessary. :) We hope that you will return to stay with us and thanks again for such a nice review. This place is just blocks away from Marginal Way and Perkins Cover, so the central location is ideal. The one bedroom suite we stayed in was immaculate and well stocked with everything from wine glasses and corkscrew to salt and pepper and dish detergent. We could've easily spent one week in the suite. They provided plenty of hangers; there's two flat screen TVs, a burner, microwave, full-sized frig; what more can a traveler need? The property had an L-shaped indoor pool and a simple gym. The hallways were judiciously carpeted. The price was extremely reasonable. We would easily go back to stay there again.

This was our first vacation with the baby, and despite bad weather it was perfect. The suite in Harbour House was so spotless we were comfortable letting our baby crawl around everywhere. He also enjoyed the indoor pool, also in like-new condition. The concierge was sweet and very helpful, and when she saw we had a baby she switched our room so we were close to parking. The cleaning staff was also very friendly. The location is near perfect, a 5-6 min walk to Perkins Cove or downtown Ogunquit, and a few minutes to Marginal Way via gravel path. Lacks only an ocean view, but well worth it for the quality of the suites. We'll definitely be back.

Room Tip: Sea Cliff is really quiet and charming but across the street from parking. Harbour House is in same...

Thanks so much Chris in MA for your fabulous review. We are so happy that your stay was so enjoyable and we too wish that you didn't have to leave :) We are SO fortunate to have such an amazing staff. Debbie our head housekeeper is a jewel for us and she keeps everything spotlessly clean, as you noted. Olga, whom you also referred, to is a wonderful girl and takes such great care of our guests' needs. You might also have noticed The River Terrace House which is just next door to the Harbour House and that building is all townhouse suites so that in the future if you wanted to have two bedrooms on different levels you could try that building. We do have a large variety of layouts in all of the buildings so as your baby gets older we can meet whatever needs you might have. We so appreciate that you took the time to write such a great review and look forward to seeing you again. Judith, Owner

I reserved a suite for one night, sight unseen and was extremely happy with every aspect of my visit: Concierge Olga was warm, intelligent, eager to help and full of excellent advice: very helpful given my lack of familiarity with Ogunquit.

The suite was immaculate, freshly painted, and contained everything I could possibly have needed--from cutting board and dish detergent, to extra towels and facecloths. All new windows and sliding doors, windows that opened to allow in fresh ocean breeze, all appliances (coffee maker, toaster, A/C, two flat screen TVs, one in large bedroom (very comfortable king sized bed), the other in the sitting area, alarm clock, remote controls, hair dryer)--new and in perfect working order. Nice little collection of bath toiletries, very comfortable overstuffed pull-out sofa in sitting area. A sliding screen door led to a tiny private deck with table and chairs, and the indoor heated pool (too early in the season for the outdoor pool, but signs were that they were already prepping it mid-may) was lovely--L-shaped with a seat-Jacuzzi section in the L, shallow, but big enough for a few easy relaxed laps.

When I phoned for information from the website, Olga had suggested I check out the on-line picture on booking.com because she didn't want me to disappointed with the pool's size/be unable to do the kind of laps I had in mind. I really appreciated this up front candid info.

I stayed in Harbour House--the newer building--but have every reason to believe, based on how things are run there--that the main, older building promises to be every bit as excellent.

Both are a 7 minute, perfect stroll to Perkins Cove in one direction, and three minutes from another entrance to the Marginal Way, in another.

I wholeheartedly recommend reservations with Sea Rose Suites ......without reservation! And you can't beat the off-season price: $76 for a single including service charge and tax. Unbelievable.

Overall, it was a great stay. There is a common area deck just outside the rooms and we were very disappointed to see ashtrays on each of the tables. Fortunately, it was the slow season and only a few rooms were rented. Smoking and second hand smoke is dangerous for your health. Plain and simple. Consider making your suites truly smoke free.

Thank you weed wacker 436 for taking the time to write a review for the Sea Rose Suites. We totally agree with you about the smoking and we absolutely DO NOT ALLOW SMOKING in any of our suites. Unfortunately, people still smoke and rather than have ugly cigarette butts thrown about our beautiful grounds we have chosen to place ash trays outside. There is also a state law that prevents people from smoking anywhere within twenty feet of any commercial building. We are doing our best on this issue. We assume that there are places that still allow smoking inside? Anyway, please don't let this deter you from staying with us again because I assure you no one smokes in our suites...ever. (This is a sticky subject for us as you might have guessed lol). Thanks again for staying with us and for writing your review. It appears that everything else was great for you. Judith, Owner
