“A Perfect Weekend”
Reviewed June 7, 2009

My husband and I just returned today from a weekend at The Beachmere Inn as part of Harvard Medical School's 50th Reunion. We can't rave enough about the Inn. First of all, the location is beautiful and the very clean, spacious rooms offer fantastic ocean views. The staff is efficient and friendly and goes above and beyond to accommodate every need. A special thank you goes to Donna and Nancy who seemed to work all weekend to ensure that our Reunion went smoothly. We will tell our friends and family about this jewel on the edge of the sea and will definitely return in the future. Thank you to the Beachmere.

Thank you for your comments about your experience at the Beachmere Inn. We try to make sure everyone has a great stay while in our care and apologize if we disappointed you. We do host weddings here at the Inn on our lawn and inside our function room. Of the weddings we do, only three are scheduled past 7PM, as we understand that our in house guests should not be disturbed. This past Memorial Day we did host a wedding group, in which a few of the attendees were having too much fun and clearly impacted your stay. We did have front desk, function and maintenance staff on premises until late into the night who were working to keep the wedding noise & guests under control. If we had been notified of your specific disturbance, we would have sent someone to that area right away. We gained valuable knowledge from this function and have adjusted our policies, staffing and “rules” accordingly. I would have contacted you personally, but we do not have any registered guests from New Orleans on record for Memorial Day Weekend. If you wish to contact me directly, please feel free to do so. Again, thank you for your comments, good and bad experiences need to be brought to our attention so we can continue to strive for the perfect stay for every guest.

My husband and I spent 4 nights @ the Beachmere Inn May 19th-23rd. This is a very nice place. The staff was friendly and helpful, and our room (20) was very clean and the view from the balcony was beautiful. We enjoyed the Marginal way. There are plenty of restaurants with some spectacular lobster! The restaurants are quite pricey, but I guess it is a resort town, so to be expected. It is a very quaint little town, with alot of little shops to explore. We particularly liked walking around in Perkins Cove. I would definitely stay @ the Beachmere if we ever return to Maine.

The Ogunquit/Wells area seems to be filled with run of the mill motels that still feel entitled to charge outrageous rates in the summer months. If you're coming up in the summer to enjoy the beaches, you're going to pay through the nose anyway, so pony up a little extra and stay at the Beachmere. It's the only place in the area that actually provides accommodations and service to match its pricetag. We stayed in room 118 in the new Beachmere West. Beachmere West is great... bedrooms with king beds, big 2 sink bathrooms, and living areas with a sofa that converts to a trundle bed to sleep 2. Great for families.

The best part of the Beachmere, is of course, the location. Perched above the Marginal Way with a direct access gate onto the path, the Beachmere features a sprawling yard that looks out over the Ocean. During lower tides, the cove beaches in front of the hotel become exposed, and you can climb down to them from the Marginal Way. If you wait until nearly low tide, you can even wade over to the main strip of Ogunquit Beach, as we saw one adventurous family do.

We also had great service from the Beachmere employees. Front desk was helpful and assisted us when there didn't seem to be any parking spots left in the lot when we returned one night. Mike at the pub was very friendly and the food and atmosphere were very good.

The Beac hmere was fantastic! This was our first trip to Maine and I absolutely loved it! We stayed in room 8 at the Victorian. Very spacious room. The stonewall adds a lot of character to the room. The staff could not have been friendlier. In fact everyone in Maine was friendly! Ogunquit is a nice small town close enough to Portland to go there for a day. We walked around to all the little shops and there are plently of restaurants to choose from. They have copies of many menus in the office. I hope to go back to Maine again and if we do then we will definitely stay at the Beachmere!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel over the recent Easter Holiday weekend. We were pleasantly surprised on every level with the location, service and rooms. We stayed in room 121 which has a view of the ocean which you can watch from your balcony. The room was one of the cleanest that I have ever seen. The attention to detail was remarkable. Best of all, the people working there were very polite, accommodating, and helpful (always with a pleasant attitude). One of the best places that I have ever stayed at. I highly recommend it!
