We have stayed at the Beachmere Inn many a summer vacation over the past fifteen or so years. It is consistently the BEST! We had a college tour to do in Maine and my family would not even consider staying anywhere else. The rooms are immaculate, the service is spectacular. We always feel very welcome while we are there. The location couldn't be better either as it is right on the Marginal Way with the ocean right outside your window. The inn is centrally located in town so you can walk just about anywhere. The staff is always courteous and extremely helpful. It is always a pleasure to stay here no matter what the weather or time of year. I am very happy to recommend the Beachmere Inn as it is consistently a clean, charming and wonderful place and you can definitely feel that the owners and staff absolutely care about their visitors and want you to have a relaxing, peaceful vacation. Thanks again, Beachmere Inn,... WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!

Stayed in Room 37 in the Victorian House. The view was fantastic and the room had its own separate balcony!

The room was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful.

I'm French Canadian (from Montreal), and I've been going to the Beachmere for many, many years (since the late '70s). I'd like to say this in many langages, it is my favorite Inn in the world. It's simply paradise at its best! It smells sea salt, peace and happiness. C'est là où je me réconcilie avec la vie! We're going back next week for the Easter long weekend, to celebrate my sister Muriel's birthday, and we can't wait. The owners and staff are wonderful, the rooms, very comfy, the views breathtaking and the Marginal Way is at our feet... what else do you need? Beachmere, here I come again... lucky me!

This past October, my brother, sister and I (and our spouses) were looking to take our mother away for a one night celebration of her 80th birthday. We're from Massachusetts and our mother had always wanted to visit Ogunquit, Maine. Based on several recommendations from friends and the great reviews on Trip Advisor, we chose the Beachmere Inn. We couldn't have asked for a better venue!

Let me first say that we are a family of hoteliers, so we know a thing or two about hotels, having been in the resort business for many years! The Beachmere Inn was as cozy and charming as we'd heard. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted like we were old friends. Jamie at the front desk couldn't have been more helpful. She assisted us in choosing a restaurant for our night out and was full of helpful suggestions and information about the local area.

The Inn's oceanfront setting is to die for! Talk about location - wow! The ocean surf was seemingly all around us. The town's infamous "Marginal Way" runs right by the Inn, making it convenient to check out the seaside scenery. We actually walked along the Marginal Way into the town area the following day to have some lunch. We had four rooms between the six of us and were very pleased with the cleanliness and spaciousness of our accommodations - with each room offering fabulous ocean views! We enjoyed a fabulous continental breakfast the following morning in the Inn's oceanview main building and had the good fortune to talk with Sarah Diment, who owns and operates the Inn with her mother. It's no wonder that the Inn is so popular. Her family has done an outstanding job of creating a warm, intimate atmosphere which makes you never want to leave! Our stay was a brief one, however, we came away very impressed (which isn't always easy to do when you're dealing with a family of hoteliers).

We loved our dinner that evening at the nearby "Clay Hill Farm" restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a charming country inn atmosphere and high quality cuisine!

We didn't have enough time to check out the entire Ogonquit area, however, I can assure you that we'll all be back to the Beachmere Inn. This is the place to stay if you want to experience Maine hospitality and scenery at its finest!

When pulling up to the Beachmere Inn's parking lot, the first thing you notice is the spectacular ocean view. We received prompt check in service with a description of amenities, complimentary breakfast, and on-site cocktails/dining. There was a little walk down a brick sidewalk to our room. The room was clean, and partially renovated. New bathroom tile and fixtures. Your expected to wash all dishes used, otherwise there is a $25 charge upon checkout. There is no dish drainer provided. Otherwise, a well equipped kitchenette.
The location is right on the ocean, with access to the Marginal Way. Our room had an ocean view, with views of Ogunquit Beach as well. There's no pool, but a hot tub is located in the main building, in an enclosed room in the basement. On that same level is a well equipped exercise room, play room for children, and quite extensive spa/massage services.
The complimentary breakfast consisted of bagels, bread, english muffins, sweet bread, and cereal. The coffee was fresh, and hot. The best part of the breakfast is enjoying the food while taking in the beautiful view.
The hotel is almost totally "green". Water is heated by solar panels. All linens are washed in cold water. I'm not sure if that's the reason for the scratchy sheets, but they were very rough, although clean. The furnace was being repaired the last evening we were there, and we were w/o heat for 3 hours. We called the office to check on the repair, and were told it would be a little while longer, and weren't offered any options.
It was 26 degrees out.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The location, friendly staff, and views were what would bring us back to Beachmere Inn.

Dear Quilter4Fun
Thank you for your review of our Inn here on TripAdvisor. I’m pleased you chose to spend your five night vacation with us here in Ogunquit Maine and we look forward to your return visit. This time of year is really a “best kept secret” in getting total relaxation. We try very hard to exceed expectations with warm welcomes, tremendous ocean views, updated rooms and amenities such as the pub, continental breakfast and our spa. Our crew will appreciate hearing this.

However, I am disappointed that we had this heating issue affect you on your final night. We discovered a failed circulator pump (which pushes the hot water through the baseboard) in your building late in the day of March 26th and immediately called in our heating repair company. It was our understanding that the problem was resolved within an hour and a half of the technician’s arrival, as he replaced the pump and assured us that we were back to normal heating. It is now apparent that the problem continued to inconvenience you as the evening wore on. I apologize that we did not check on you again, later that evening, as we had understood that your room was retaining its heat and was not an issue. Clearly we had an internal miscommunication during this time. Our staff is trained to take our guests’ comfort as the most important part of their jobs and, we have never had a situation of this sort, and assure you, it will not happen again.

As for our green efforts, we are committed to being green without sacrificing comfort. I have already met with our laundry staff and called our detergent company to see what adjustments we can make so that the sheets are super clean while retaining the softness we all come to expect. We do ask guests to wash their dishes before departure. It’s not for the guest who uses a glass or two, but for those who use every dish, glass, pot and pan while staying with us, which can delay the next arrival. Our housekeepers gladly take care of a few dishes, but a sink full can add significant time on cleaning a room.

It would seem that your overall stay for five days, was satisfactory and relaxing and for this we are grateful. We have also sent you a letter by mail and would be happy to speak to you further at your convenience.

Kind regards,
Sarah Diment

We travel to Ogunquit each September to celebrate our anniversary. Each time we have stayed at the Beacmere in their Mayfair Studio. We have always found it perfect. It is located off the main property, but it 's only about a five minute walk. It's a small studio apartment which is extremely comfortable and very private.

I enjoy walking down to the Marginal Way and up to the Pub for the continental breakfast. We stop by the pub in the afternoon before heading out to dinner to enjoy a cocktail .

We can't say enough about the staff - they always go above and beyond the call of duty. From the time we check in through checkout - they have always served us with a smile.

Ogunquit is a definitely a beautiful place by the sea and the Beachmere is situated in the perfect place. It's a short stroll to the shops, beach and restaurants. Or take the time to walk around in Perkins Cove for some more shopping and dining.

For a good time at night - or a Saturday/Sunday afternoon in the fall - check out Maxwell's Pub. They have karoake (always a good laugh) on Friday and Saturday night and games on every tv.

We look forwad to visiting again. (We may even try to visit in the spring this year!)
