We stumbled across this amazing guesthouse when we needed a last-minute place to stay. Miraculously, they'd just had a cancellation! Worth every cent--fully furnished room with kitchen, deck, and ocean waves to lull you to sleep. We ate breakfast on the beach (a bakery and store are within walking distance) and wished we had more time to stay longer...Some of the friendliest staff we've ever met, as well!

I had a conference in Portland Maine that started at 8am so searched for a spot to stay in Ocean Park, about 25 minutes south of the city. Have stayed in Ocean Park in summer rentals many times and knew of the Billowhouse because you walk past it to get to the gorgeous Long Sands Beach (a 7 mile stretch of Ocean below Old Orchard Beach). It was the last guestroom open right after Memorial Day, I stayed in the "Oceanview" room for $107. including tax. The room was impeccable, beautiful country cottage decor. It was the details that did it. Not just "in room coffee or tea" but milk in the refrigerator, lovely mugs and a rocker on the deck to enjoy it. The bath had a beautiful tiled shower and all the amenitites - iron, hair dryer, even a heating pad! In the "Gathering Room", I had an early breakfast of spinach quiche, fruited bread, fruit salad and yogurt, all prepared and set up for self-service for my early departure. July-August rentals are by the week. I have highly recommended this spot for a quick retreat, romantic weekend, or family get together by the sea. thanks Billow House staff!

Room Tip: Each room is unique with it's own theme.

We just got back from a wonderful stay at the Billowhouse...can't say enough! It was very clean, relaxing and peaceful. The owners put a personal touch into everything they do....from amenities to getting to know you on a first name basis. As for area dining---breakfast is served in the community room right at the Billowhouse...for delicious seafood were attire doesn't matter, we recommend the Lobster Claw in Saco...more upscale? The Landmark restaurant in OOB. If you decide to take a short trip to Portland, definitely stop by Gritty's...

This was our 7th or 8th stay here. We always thoroughly enjoy ourselves. Mary and Judi do a wonderful job making you feel at home. They treat you like family. We cannot wait until our next trip to the BillowHouse.

Room Tip: Saco Bay is the best accommodations.

Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Hosts are most helpful, caring and compassionate. They have lots of great ideas for places to go and are very helpful in making sure that you have everything that you need.
If you are in the guest house, Billow house supplies a tasty breakfast. Each day a different
dish was set out for our enjoyment.
The hotel is just off the beach and our suite had a great view of the ocean and it's just a few steps over the dunes to the beach.
A perfect spot to rest and re-energize.

Room Tip: The higher rooms have a great view of the beach.

My wife and I have stayed at Billowhouse twice now and both visits have been PERFECT!
What makes Billowhouse so enjoyable is the feeling of being Family as Mary and Judi take care of your every need. The rooms have every possible item you may have left at home so you will want for nothing and don't forget you can ask for a room with an Ocean view! We have made Billowhouse our home while in Maine and look forward to getting back there this Fall.
