This was a horrible lunch experience. We were a family group sightseeing south of Mount Desert island. We stopped in Northeast Harbor for lunch. What a disappointing selection of choices this small town offers.
We chose Docksider, what a bad decision this was.
We were served by what appeared to be a 14 year old boy, with several more "14 year olds" in the kitchen.
Outdoor seating was four wooden bleacher type benches.
We ordered a mixture of BLT's, cheeseburger and tuna melt at an average of $7.99, but fries and coleslaw are $3.99 each!!! But if you order these with the sandwich it's only $2.50 each.
So a sandwich with fries and coleslaw costs $12.99.
Put this into perspective. The name is deceptive, we were eating on a quiet uninteresting side street with zero view of the distant harbor. The sandwiches were very small, the sides of microwave fries was even smaller. The tuna melt was smaller than a children's portion.
Finally to put the nail in this terrible experience, they put our order on the credit card of the previous customer!!! Fortunately we noticed before we left. The scarey thing is that when we asked the young boy to reverse the credit card charge he said he couldn't, he didn't know how to.
We asked to speak to an adult manager. He told us there were no adults there???
We were left to resolve this with the customer who's credit hard had been charged for our food by paying him in cash.
Take my advise, stay away from Docksider, and pick another town to eat in.
